Enchiladas.

God, how Alice hated enchiladas.

It was what was for dinner tonight, though, and she knew better than to argue with her mother.

They were skiing; she loved to go skiing, but adults always took so long to get ready. They also took a long time to cook, which would normally trouble her...but tonight?

She'd rather go hungry.

"Wanna play a game after dinner?" Her uncle had asked her. A game sounded fun, and she'd been ignored all day - so she agreed.

Someone else imagined shadows in the corner of his bedroom that evening.

Someone else paid mind to television in the corner and the French glass doors.

Someone else took over completely when she'd gone to tell her other uncles what he'd done...when he came out not long after her to keep her from ratting him out.

Sam didn't remember the rest, but she'd known it had happened. The others had confirmed it.

...Even so, she couldn't recall the numerous other times they'd claimed it had occurred over the years.

Perhaps that was for the best.

Men take.

Evtida: It was a very sweet story, but it felt rushed. It didn't really convey the emotions. For example, when the girl was kidnapped, instead of panicking, going crazy, and causing a scene, giving in felt strange... His exaggerated relationship with his gay friend was also odd in my opinion.
