Merry Christmas. Mom and Dad are home today. It's been a lot of fun. I miss them. I hope they don't leave again soon. I think we're poor. My only present was a fancy pen. Maybe it's called a quill? I don't know. It doesn't have a feather but I dip it in ink. I'm using it right now!

Dear Diary,
I'm sorry I haven't written to you in so long. I've been reading a lot, I have escaped. My parents appear once every two or three days. Over summer I liked going to the park nearby and reading under the trees. After spring time the kids stopped picking on me. It's like they got bored. Now no one knows I even exist. Not even my parents. Middle School starts tomorrow, I have no idea why it's starting in the middle of the week. It's farther away so I get to take the bus. I think I want to walk instead. It's not like anyone will notice. I didn't get a present yet.

It turns out they forgot my Birthday. They gave me a wallet with twenty dollars inside. I'm not telling you where I'm hiding it in case someone steals this. I don't want to buy anything, books are free at the library. So I'll save up. So now I have twenty dollars. I like my Middle School. First Period is Reading and grammar skills, Second period is writing. It's the same teacher though. Third Period is P.E. and fourth Period is Math. Fifth Period is science, and Sixth period is History.
