What is your opinion?

Such a fresh story!

"I'm down with 5 chapters, and safe to say, I already love our girl Betty. The author has skillfully balanced Betty’s challenges with a light touch of humor, making the story relatable and engaging. It is such an authentic book, capturing both the excitement and anxiety of a teenager navigating a high-pressure situation while managing her unique quirks. The author’s decision to write about a female lead character with ADHD is commendable. It makes people feel normal because not all FMCs are always just barbie or bratty. Betty’s experiences offer a refreshing perspective on neurodiversity, highlighting both the struggles and strengths that come with her condition. The portrayal is realistic and nuanced, avoiding stereotypes and instead presenting Betty as a fully realized character with dreams, flaws, and a relentless spirit. Through Betty, the book offers a meaningful exploration of what it means to pursue one’s passion despite the obstacles, making this book a must read. I love the writing style and I can't wait to read more."

A Captivating Tale of Dreams

""Betty's Rock and Roll Reality" draws me into the life of Betty Reinhardt, a 21-year-old aspiring musician with ADHD and autism. The opening scene resonates with me, filled with vivid details that bring Betty’s character to life—her attachment to her long hair, the comfort she finds in familiar objects, and the complex, yet loving relationship with her mother. I appreciate how the author captures the tension and love between them, making their dynamic feel authentic. This story promises to be a compelling read about following dreams, overcoming personal struggles, and staying true to oneself. In my opinion that's one of the best stories I have ever read."

Enchanting, nostalgic and very relatable

"This is a wonderful journey that strikes a chord with anyone who grew up immersed in the sweet sounds of nostalgia. The author skillfully weaves together relatable tales of neurodivergence, making us reflect on the familiar struggles: the chaotic rush of making multiple trips to achieve one simple task, the comedic yet frustrating clumsiness of bumping into furniture, and the soothing power of music as a refuge in a noisy world. The book doesn't shy away from addressing the darker side of our youth, touching on the all-too-relatable experiences of school bullying, yet it manages to balance these heavy themes with a hopeful yearning for dreams of rock stardom. Each chapter feels like a mixtape of our childhood and teenage years, reminding us of the timeless melodies that shaped who we are today. A must-read for anyone who wants to celebrate the music of their past while embracing the complexities of their journey."

Absolutely love this novel!

"This story is fantastic, highly engaging. After six chapters I’m completely sucked in and dying to find out what happens next. I love all the characters. They already feel like real people to me, people I want to hang out with in the mansion. I absolutely love the author’s authentic portrayal of an adult with both autism and ADHD. This kind of writing can go a long way to dispelling the many myths that surround adult autism and neurodivergence in general. I can’t wait for more!"

I'm totally obsessed

"I just love the way she is taking the opportunity so big it can change her life even while struggling with her autism. Hopefully she gets better and wins the place in the band. I'm rotting for her."

Sounds great!

"I do really like the first 3 chapters of this book - I'm curious to see how they result as a finished piece. It's interesting how ADHD and autism have come up in this first-person perspective, and I like how by chapter 3, we already had the big band involvement. It sounds compelling! I do feel like a lot of the story could have been summarised into 1-2 chapters rather than 3, mostly because of the detailed knowledge Betty has. It does feel like it's already set in a timeline you are already aware of, which sounds very exciting! Looking forward to more"
