Books and Balls

Yasue was a smart student. That fact was abundantly clear. She was always at the top of the class and her extra curricular activities knew no bound. Her first year she was part of the calligraphy club, second year she was part of the gymnastics club and now that she was in her third year she was trying to keep her time for studying instead of club activities. The only thing she was still a part of was the student council.

Her parents had decided they wanted her to go to one of the top universities so they asked her to resign from any club she was in. She agreed upon the fact that she had never managed to get attached to them or the people she had met in them. It was a lonely life but she was happy to be accompanied by her books and her beloved cat merlin. The teachers knew of her lonely life but every time they would suggest her to join another club she would quickly shut it down and claim to have no interest in anything but her studies.

What no one knew however was that Yasue was an avid fan of volleyball and quite often would sit in her study breaks and watch videos of the latest matches. She was very supportive of her schools team. She could never go to their matches due to her after school tutoring but she always made sure to match her accessories with their colours. She always was listening in the halls for someone gossiping about their wins and how much they had won by.

She was happy in her little bubble. What she didn’t know was that soon she will have her little bubble burst by someone who will change her life forever. That boy just happened to be one of the top three strikers of high school students.
