One of those books
"Although it starts slowly, it gets hotter and hotter. What I like about this plot development is that it reads naturally, is not trying to be flashy or jump over its head, and feels realistic and compelling. I love the main characters' chemistry, I love that it's between the lines more and I can't wait to see how they finally reveal it to each other. So far they're not toxic, very close to couples goals. But let's see what happens. I'm here after chapter 13, and it's just getting better and better, so it's one of those books that slowly get under your skin by disclosing some suspense details and the underlying plot we didn't know existed. "
Even the supporting characters are quite awesome
"This story is really interesting! The way the author describes Lugardo makes you feel like you’re actually there. I obviously love how Liz and Oscar communicate, their banter makes it clear why they like each other, they just click. But also the supporting characters like the actress and Monty add up the general charm of the story. "
The beginning of a great romance
"I really enjoyed the first 8 chapters. The description of Lugardo's homes with their old-fashioned charm is so vivid. Daniela and Savannah’s warm welcome to Liz and Oscar is really engaging. It’s clear they have a deep bond, and the way they interact feels very real. Liz’s thoughts about what makes a home are very touching, and the moments with Oscar add a nice depth to the story. I am so intrigued about the development of the relationship between Oscar and Liz! They started out so casually, bonding immediately, but the taxi scene is so promising to me as somebody who enjoys natural development and undeniable chemistry. Looking forward to the new chapters!"
Romance and self-discovery on a tropical island
"Absolutely loving this book! Liz and Oscar's story is a perfect blend of romance, drama, and suspense. The author does a fantastic job of developing their characters and their relationship. Their dynamic is compelling, and I found myself rooting for them both individually and as a couple. A must-read for anyone who loves a mix of romance and suspense. The island here is a separate character which I loved. A great cozy summer read with some deep themes underneath. I hope the next chapters will not disappoint!"
