Chapter 1
Another story featuring the Backstreet Boys. Story may be short. Positive feedback is appreciated.
Hayley stood outside the venue with all the other Backstreet Boys fans who wanted to see the guys show up for the concert that night. She looked at her best friend, Alicia. Alicia smiled and they stood there waited. A limo pulled into the venue and the doors opened and AJ, Brian, Howie, and Nick got out and waved to the fans. Hayley smiled and looked at her feet. She felt eyes on her and she looked up and saw Nick standing by the limo looking at her. He smiled at her and followed the guys. She looked at Alicia and she was looking at her.
“Nick was staring at you and he smiled at you,” Alicia said. Hayley shook her head.
“He probably was looking at you or someone beside me,” Hayley said.
“No, Hayley, he was looking straight at you,” Alicia said. Hayley shrugged.
“Excuse me, miss,” a big guy said from behind the barricade. Hayley looked at him.
“Yes,” Hayley said.
“I was asked to bring you backstage,” he said.
“Me?” Hayley asked.
“Yes,” he said.
“Go, Hayley,” Alicia said.
“Are you her friend?” he asked Alicia.
“Yes, I am,” Alicia said.
“You can come, too,” he said. He helped them past the barricade and led them backstage.
“I told you so,” Alicia said.
“What,” Hayley said.
“Nick was staring you and now he wants to meet you,” Alicia said quietly.
“Ali,” Hayley said.
“I know what I saw, girl, he wants to meet you,” Alicia said. The guy led them to a room and asked them to sit down. Hayley sat down on a couch in the room while Alicia sat on a chair. A few minutes later, Nick came in the room. He looked at Hayley and smiled. He went over to her and she looked up at him.
“Hi there, I’m Nick,” Nick said.
“I know, I’m Hayley,” Hayley said. He sat down beside her.
“I know you are probably wondering why you are back here,” Nick said.
“I told you, Hayley,” Alicia said. Nick looked at her.
“That’s my friend, Alicia,” Hayley said.
“Hi, I’ll leave you two alone to talk,” Alicia said. She went out into the hallway and bumped into AJ.
“Sorry,” Alicia said.
“Don’t be,” AJ said smiling at her.
“I’m Alicia, you can call me Ali,” Alicia said holding out her hand.
“Hi there,” AJ said kissing her hand. They went to talk. Hayley and Nick were talking.
“So out of all the girls out there, you wanted to meet me,” Hayley said.
“Yes, well, I saw you out there and I just had to meet you, there is just something about you that made me want to meet you,” Nick said.
“I’m just an average girl, I’m not a big celebrity or fashion model,” Hayley said.
“Well, from what I see, you could be a model, but since you are an average girl, that’s all that matters,” Nick said. Hayley looked at him.
“So why did you want to meet me?” Hayley asked.
“Do you believe in love at first sight?” Nick asked.
“Not anymore, I’ve had my heart broken numerous times and I refused to go through that again,” Hayley said.
“You refuse to love again?” Nick asked.
“Yes, I can’t take another heartbreak,” Hayley said.
“Oh, I see,” Nick said looking away.
“You want to date me, don’t ya,” Hayley said.
“I was going to ask you out,” Nick said.
“Well, you picked me out of a huge crowd and brought me back here to meet ya, can’t really say no to you, you are my favorite Backstreet Boy and all, and I’m a huge fan, but I’d like to see the guy behind the scenes, the real Nick Carter,” Hayley said.
“Is that a yes?” Nick asked.
“It is, but I can’t promise anything, okay, I can’t promise to go any further than friends,” Hayley said.
“I’ll take what I can get,” Nick said. AJ and Alicia came into the room where Nick and Hayley were talking.
“Hey you two, me and Ali have a date tonight after the show,” AJ said.
“That’s great,” Hayley said smiling.
“I know, I couldn’t really say no to him, he was persuasive,” Alicia said smiling at AJ.
“What did you do, AJ,” Nick said.
“He kissed me, on my hand, my cheek, my forehead, gave me a smile and I melted and gave in,” Alicia said.
“Wow, that’s a first, AJ, all you had to do was ask once,” Hayley said.
“Well, I did and she was playing hard to get,” AJ said.
“Playing being the key word in that sentence,” Hayley said. AJ looked at Alicia who smiled at him.
“You made me practically beg you to go out with me,” AJ said.
“I just wanted to see how badly you wanted to go out with me,” Alicia said. AJ smiled at her and pulled her out the door. Nick looked at Hayley.
“How does she feel about him?” Nick asked.
“She’s in love with him, she wants to be with him, not the AJ onstage but the one behind the scenes, the real AJ McLean, she doesn’t care what he does, she wants to know the real person,” Hayley said.
“How about hanging out tonight after the show?” Nick asked.
“Okay, where to?” Hayley asked.
“How about my hotel room, room service, movie, don’t worry, I’m sharing the suite with Brian, so we won’t be alone,” Nick said.
“How about my house, I’ll cook,” Hayley said.
“You cook?” Nick asked.
“Yes, I do, I can make homemade pizza,” Hayley said.
“I’m so there!” Nick said.
“You like homemade pizza,” Hayley said.
“It sure beats store bought and restaurant pizza, I haven’t had homemade pizza since I lived with my parents,” Nick said.
“Well, homemade pizza it is, and you can pick a movie,” Hayley said. Nick smiled and nodded.
“Do you have tickets to the show?” Nick asked.
“Front row seats, Ali and I won a radio contest,” Hayley said.
“Awesome, I will get you a backstage pass or I can have Billy, my bodyguard hang close to you and Ali so he can bring you backstage,” Nick said.
“No VIP booths?” Hayley said.
“I can manage that,” Nick said. He made a call.
“All set, Billy will take you two to the VIP booth,” Nick said. Hayley smiled.
“Thanks,” Hayley said.
That night after the show, Hayley and Alicia followed Billy backstage and sat down and waited for the guys. Brian and Howie came out and introduced themselves. Nick and AJ came out freshly showered and clean. Brian and Howie left to go back to the hotel. Alicia left with AJ for their date. Hayley took Nick to her house. He walked in and looked around. He followed her into the kitchen.
“So you live here by yourself?” Nick asked.
“No, I share with Ali, I inherited the house from my grandparents, and they left me money to live on for a long time so me and Ali don’t have any jobs right now, we are making sure the bills are paid up and we don’t go on shopping sprees, if we need new clothes, we go to Wal-Mart,” Hayley said.
“Wow, so you guys aren’t big spenders, that’s cool,” Nick said.
“Like I said, I’m an average girl, not a fashion model,” Hayley said.
“Hey, that’s a good thing, I don’t have a thing for fashion models, they care too much on how they look, I like a girl who doesn’t care what they look like, who is comfortable with themselves, like you,” Nick said. Hayley looked at him and smiled. She got out stuff to cook. Nick sat at the table and watched her.
Later on after they ate, they went into the living room and sat down and Nick got out the movie he picked. She looked at it and looked at him.
“A scary movie,” Hayley said.
“Yeah,” Nick said smiling.
“Anything to get me scared,” Hayley said.
“It’s a good movie,” Nick said. Hayley shook her head and put it in the DVD player and pushed play and sat down on the couch next to him. They watched the movie. When the scary parts came on, Hayley covered her face with her hands. Nick looked at her and patted her shoulder. She looked at him.
“What,” Hayley said.
“Scared?” Nick asked.
“A little,” Hayley said. He took her hand in his and held it close.
“I will hold your hand,” Nick said. Hayley smiled.
“Thanks,” Hayley said.
After the movie was over, Nick looked at Hayley and saw she was asleep. Her head was resting against his chest. She woke up and looked up at him.
“Movie is over,” Nick said.
“Oh,” Hayley said.
“You okay?” Nick asked.
“Yeah, I’m fine, except for one thing,” Hayley said.
“What’s that?” Nick asked. Hayley leaned up and kissed his lips softly. Nick sat there as Hayley kissed him. He cupped her cheek with his hand and returned the kiss. The kiss deepened. Hayley moved into his lap and straddled him. He rested his hands on her arms. He pulled back and looked at her and smiled at her.
“Wow,” Nick said.
“I’m sorry,” Hayley said. Nick cupped her face in his hands and kissed the tip of her nose.
“Don’t be sorry, Hayley, I liked it,” Nick said.
“I know what I said about not wanting to be in a relationship, I just wanted to kiss you,” Hayley said.
“Hayley, I’m not like those guys who broke your heart, I never broke anyone’s heart, my heart was always broken like yours,” Nick said.
“What,” Hayley said.
“Willa, Paris, they broke my heart, although they claimed that it was my fault, Paris said I cheated on her, I didn’t, I couldn’t cheat on anyone I cared about or loved, it’s not who I am, Willa dumped me as soon as she got a record deal,” Nick said. Hayley looked away and Nick cupped her chin and turned her head to face him.
“Hayley, if you give me a chance, I will never break your heart,” Nick said.
“You are the first guy who has said that to me,” Hayley said. Nick stroked her cheek.
“I mean it, Hayley, I will not be like those other guys who broke your heart, I want to be the one to heal it,” Nick said. Hayley smiled and kissed him deeply.
“I guess that’s a yes,” Nick said.
“I’m yours if you want me to be,” Hayley said.
“Yes, definitely, you are my dream girl,” Nick said. She smiled and he kissed her lips softly and held her close. Alicia and AJ came in and saw them.
“Wow,” Alicia said.
“He’s just holding me,” Hayley said resting her head on his chest and looking at them.
“Just the position you guys are in,” Alicia said.
“As you see, clothes are still on,” Nick said.
“Are you two?” AJ asked.
“Yes, we are together,” Nick said. Alicia smiled and pulled Hayley up and into the kitchen and sat her down at the table and sat down and looked at her.
“What,” Hayley said.
“What happened to not getting into another relationship?” Alicia said.
“Things change,” Hayley said.
“Hayley, you swore up and down that you were never getting into another relationship because you didn’t want another broken heart,” Alicia said.
“Because Nick told me that if I gave him a chance, he would never break my heart and he is the first guy who has said that to me,” Hayley said.
“Hayley, AJ told me that Nick was always the one getting his heartbroken,” Alicia said.
“Yeah, I know, Nick told me,” Hayley said.
“Well, AJ and I are a couple and he asked me to go on tour with him,” Alicia said.
“That’s great,” Hayley said.
“Nick didn’t ask you?” Alicia asked.
“Not yet,” Hayley said.
“Nick!” Alicia said.
“Ali!” Hayley said. Nick and AJ came into the kitchen.
“Yes,” Nick said.
“Okay, is there something you want to ask Hayley?” Alicia said.
“Ali!” Hayley said.
“What’s up,” Nick said.
“Nick, AJ asked me to join you guys on tour,” Alicia said. Nick looked at AJ who nodded.
“Ali!” Hayley said. She went upstairs. Nick looked at Alicia and AJ.
“I was about to ask her when you guys came in, now if I ask her, it is going to be like you guys pressured me to ask her,” Nick said. He went upstairs and found Hayley’s bedroom and went in and saw her sitting on the bed. He sat on the bed.
“Hey, wanna go with us?” Nick asked.
“Nick,” Hayley said.
“Hayley, I swear I was about to ask you before AJ and Alicia came in,” Nick said. Hayley looked at him.
“You were?” Hayley asked.
“I have no reason to lie to you, I want you to come with us, I wanted to ask you before the concert,” Nick said. Hayley smiled and jumped on him and he landed on his back on the bed and she was on top of him.
“I want to go with you!” Hayley said kissing him hungrily. He held her close as they kissed deeply. AJ and Alicia came to the door and saw them and smiled and went to Alicia’s room.
Nick and Hayley laid on her bed, kissing. Alicia came back and saw them and quietly closed the door. Nick and Hayley broke apart and saw the door closed and smiled and continued kissing. Nick pulled back and looked at her.
“Let’s get you packed and ready to go, we leave tomorrow,” Nick said. Hayley nodded and laid her head on his chest as he held her close. They got up and Hayley packed some clothes and stuff and they laid back on the bed and began kissing again. She felt his hands rest on her waist and she pulled back.
“Nick,” Hayley said.
“What,” Nick said as he began kissing her neck.
“Your hands,” Hayley said.
“They are just resting there, I’m not going to do anything you aren’t ready for,” Nick said softly. She smiled and looked at him.
“Thank you,” Hayley said. She kissed him deeply.
