Author's Notes
This story is (in my opinion) considerably darker than my previous one. It came out of all the messed-up ideas I had to add to Snafu. Since I wanted to keep its tone a bit lighter, I molded all those thoughts into this little novella instead of including them.
As such, there are some content warnings: Assault; Offscreen rape; Child abuse; Statutory rape; Domestic Violence; Eating disorders; Human trafficking; Exploitation; Threats of violence (If I ever notice that I have missed a warning, please let me know!)
There’s a knight in shining armor in this one, but he doesn’t save the day. He just helps pick up the pieces. Because I always like to know before I start reading something – this does have a happy ending 😊
The story revolves around the events of a single day and flashbacks of what led up to it. I enjoyed playing around with the structure of the present/past events, and I hope that it will not make the story too confusing! If you are having trouble following, let me know, and I’ll make a timeline or something that I can add to with each upload.
In light of the fact that the thread of the story is not quite linear (and I have less time now than I did when I first started Snafu), I’ll be uploading longer chapters once a week on Fridays.
If something dark like this is not your cup of tea and you prefer the lighter, more comedic tone of Snafu, stay tuned because I am currently working on a much lighter, BDSM-centric (and smut heavy) novel. Once I finish the first draft, I will begin uploading it, as well.
