"Interesting story. I would suggest removing the twin towers paragraph and replace it with something else. I was a heartbeat away from deleting your book. My child distracted me and when I came back, I decided to mention it in review. With that said, the plot is very clever. The characters are well built. Again, I only review unique books and your book is another added to that list. I actually had to set the book down to process my thoughts on some of the tragedies that you described. Well done. I appreciate being able to engage on a deeper level when reading a story. "

"I’m not one for long reviews, so I’ll just say that the plot and storyline were incredible, very unique! There were a few misspelled/misused words, and “nervous system” was wildly overused, but I feel that this is a story that I’d purchase at a bookstore. I hope the author continues to create wonderful works, they clearly have a talent!"

Just about everything you want from an action based book
"I'm not a fan of the super hero genre, I like spy novels, but this was a fun read. The fight scenes were fast paced and exciting with unexpected twists. The super hero genre has certain set perimeters and I think this author kept things interesting and fun within this genre. The homages to comic book legends were clear and fun. I really liked the character development. This was something that I think the author really excelled at. You care pretty quickly about the characters and are truly heartbroken when tragedy strikes. Some might feel that the plot isn't too original but I think, like most books, readers do expect a certain framework (spy and romance novels have basic frameworks) and enjoy when an author stays within the typical framework but adds character, charm and twists. So, for me, I really enjoyed reading something out of my usual genre and I highly recommend it!"
Quite a page turner
"I meet Benjamin Peck at Phoenix Comic Con 16 last year. He was a very nice guy and explained about the story of Paragon. But he failed to let me know that he was the author till after I bought the book. Anyways the story line is very good, with twists and turns. Feels like I was reading a comic but in an actually book. I could not but the book down. When every I had as free moment I had that book on my hand and was taking everything in and making me feel like I was right in the story. Love the story, plot, the characters. Need more and can not wait for more in the series. THANK YOU Benjamin for getting that hook in my and wanting that crave for the story. LOVE IT"

A superhero story where everything is in balance
"For the past couple of decades, superhero/comic book stories have been the major film events at the multiplex. Something that I've noticed in the ones I have either seen or know of by reputation is that often the stories are only as good as the characters. Furthermore, if one wants to do something else, it is also only as good as their characters. Why? Because more often than not, it is the character that comes first - strengths and weakness, backstory, etc. - and everything else has to revolved around the character. Paragon is an original work by Benjamin Peck. It is evident that he knows his tropes. But he also takes advantage at creating an original work where it finally feels like everything is balance: the characters, the story, its integration with the real world. It is both an examination of those tropes and how they could really play out in something akin to the real world *and* it's a solid superhero story in its own right. It has all the emotions that comes with these stories: from humour to sadness at loss to rage to a final triumph. It is smartly written and realized and all in all an enjoyable read. So if you want a superhero story where everything is blended together just right, look no further than Benjamin Peck's Paragon."
Surprisingly and Unexpectedly Good Read
"The personalities were well done, nothing typical. I think everyone's favorite will be 'The Bug' (without too many spoliers). The tragedy is heart rending, and the bad guys are three dimensional, but really evil. The hero himself is more of a Xander Cage "XXX" type hero, than a standard cape and tights type, and that's a welcome difference. The pace was exceptionally well executed! Once you get going, you keep going for the whole ride. Why is the second book not published yet? This is a good, exciting read, that takes many unexpected twists and turns. written so well it was like watching a movie in my head, without the usual inability to picture certain characters or scenes that seem to plague almost every other book I've read. That's saying something. Superpowered hero stories appear to be coming into their own in fiction. Paragon deserves a place at the forefront. With sufficient homage to classic comic books, this nod to superhero comics comes out of the silver ages, avoids the overly (and sometimes grotesquely) gritty 'dark' era of the 90's comics, and establishes a new beachhead for the superhero fiction genre. I'll warn you, you'll shed actual tears at the end of Chapter 10. That's good writing."

"This book is amazing it pulls you in and keeps you wanting more and more. i havent read a book since highschool but i haven't been able to put this down lol i would definitely recommend this book to other 10/10 for sure"

"Upon a first reading, I can say that the author has taken great amount of time and care to make sure the story flows as easily, as fluid, and as fruitful as any of the other great fantasy novels out there. I have personally read hundreds of fantasy novels throughout my life, but I have to say, that of the most that come out in our current era of fantasy writing, Paragon stands on its own simply by the power of its story, and the uniqueness of its characters. This is an excellent piece of literature that I certainly will and have recommended to all my friends. Bravo!"
Just Wow
"Let me start off by saying that the only superhero story I've seen are what Marvel and DC put on the big screen. I have never been into superheroes and was hesitant to read this book but do yourself a favor and pick up a copy - you will not be disappointed. It has everything that makes you fall in love with sci-fi action novels and so much more. I was pleasantly surprised by how well this book flowed into each scene, it felt like I was watching a movie in my mind. The fight scenes were not cheesy or embellished to make it seem more intense and the characters (especially Zeke) had great development and I cannot wait until the release of Archon. *hint* *hint*."

"While as Sci-Fi is not usually a genre I'm familiar, But this was a pleasant surprise! Creative writing, compelling twists, and just damn good story-telling make Paragon a worthwhile investment. I would recommend Paragon to anyone, whether well versed in Science Fiction, or if you're just getting into it and unsure where to start."
