Chapter 1
Chapter 1 book 1, Regular week:
Life in High school is so ordinary for everyone. Nothing special, everything is so common. Romance, conflicts, work, friends, making reputations. It’s the average life of mostly every teen. Yet this one kid doesn’t have the most ordinary life, he was born into a destiny which nobody would’ve understood. North America, Nevada. A young man inside of a 4 story apartment building with a total of 4 rooms. 2 bedrooms with additional private restrooms, a kitchen, and a living space. 1 bedroom is for the single mother of the young kid, and the other is for the kid and his younger brother who’s in Jr High. The kid’s name is Junior B Jayson, he is a 15 year old American with hispanic relatives in high school. He is 6 ’1″ with black hair, blue eyes with a small tan. He has tan lines however which reveal his pale torso and thighs. He started working out for a better physic and even did underground training before, which is still secret. His motives are beyond concern and still unknown. However at school he is a chill, outgoing, and respectful guy. He has some buds named Richard and another named Saber. Today though is another walk in the park for Junior. We see him walking through the hallway of his high school, Recredor High. He’s looking sharp, he’s walking up straight, a smile on his face, a calm eye look, and a will to live. He seats himself at his desk and chills, just staring at his phone playing a mobile game. “Yo, JJ!” Someone calls out. Junior looks up ahead and waves, “What’s good Richy!” Richard begins to start walking towards Oakley’s desk. He sits on the desk in front of him and turns around, “I heard your neighborhood was surrounded by cop cars again, I’m guessing this had to do with an old conflict with your dad and the gang. Luckily they haven’t found your actual address so you should be fine for now.” Junior then scoffs, “Yeah it was that bullshit again. I hate my dad, he was such an idiot. He endangered my family just to stay ‘young again.’ What a joke.” Richard nods, “Understandable, you never told me the full story though.” Junior nearly snaps, “Well that’s because I don’t want to.” Richard sighs, “Don’t worry man I understand. Oh shi, is that Saber?” Oakley looks up, and grins, “What’s good, Saber-tooth bitch.” Saber chuckles, “Juniorrrr, looking good man.” Junior rolls his eyes and smirks, “Thanks man.” The three chill and talk until the period begins. The school day ends and the three gather, Richard suggests, “Yo, you chilling after school today?” Saber responds, “Sure I got nowhere else to go, and you Junior?” Junior sighs, “Not today, I gotta head home early this time. See y’all tomorrow.” He slowly walks down the small hill to his house. The other two say bye and hang out. Junior heads through his neighborhood, a random guy is following behind. He slowly closes in behind, then all of a sudden Junior pulls out a huge stick and bashes the guy across the face. The dude falls down and Junior begins to beat him to a pulp. He drags the unconscious corpse through an alleyway and hides it behind a trash can. He then heads inside his house, “Hey Mom I’m back.” From across the house, “Hey honey, hope today was safe.” Junior just nods and walks to the restroom, he washes his hands real quick. He sighs and thinks to himself, “I should just shower.” He slowly takes off his shirt, revealing a punch of old slashes on his back. Even though his body is pretty muscular for his age, there’s a lot of scars on his back and front. He steps in the shower and lets the water run down his face, then slowly makeup washes off. Revealing a few bruises from basically the day before. He then remembers last night during the raid on his neighborhood, apparently a few gang members had gotten too close for comfort to his actual house so he decided to ambush them. They unfortunately carried brass knuckles and a few knives so he left pretty injured. He steps out of the shower and ties the towel on his waist. He changes into clean clothes and just takes leftover chicken and makes a sandwich for dinner. After he knocks out for the next day, hoping someday this nonsense that his father gave him before passing would finally end. The rest of the week continues without any conflict with gangs. Richard and Saber hang out after school with Junior for the week, they get rides to a mall or just chill at SuperPounds Coffee. On friday around 3:50, they’re outside from a SuperPounds. They just drink a few ice waters, then Richard mentions, “Dude, what’s with your habit of collecting sharp sticks. It’s freaky, you would say because they look cool but you’re always searching and putting them in your backpack. Don’t bring those during class, or else they’ll think you’re a ‘School Stabber.’ You know?” Junior laughs, “Well you’ll be my partner in crime right?” Richard chuckles, “Wow that’s crazy. You’re not wrong.” The two laugh it off, but Junior obviously knows the actual answer. It’s to carry weapons and replace the sticks that broke during usage. The two keep chilling and making controversial jokes that even the FBI would try to arrest them. Eventually they return home and Junior relaxes. He just scratches his head and sighs, “One day things will finally end. Yet, I’m afraid which way it will go. Will it end with me living in peace, or will it end where I ‘rest in peace.’ There’s no telling.” He closes his eyes slowly and drifts away to sleep. Halfway through the night he’s shaking, his heart pounding, tears nearly gushing, he’s heating up. He’s wide awake, trying to relax his mind but there’s too many thoughts circling in his brain. He can’t calm down, it’s a panic attack. He’s afraid, too many thoughts, he doesn’t know what to do. He sighs with a shaky breath, in his desperate time he prays softly. Asking for comfort, soon his heart relaxes and his brain slows down with comforting volume. He finally sleeps. Next morning he gets up and sits at the dining room table and just munches on a muffin. His mom, Lessa Oakley, walks into the kitchen and eats some bread. She sighs and looks at some mail, “Tch, another debt bill, your damn father, always getting into debt and wasting our damn money. Can’t have nothing nice.” Junior sighs, “Believe me I understand. Tch.” In Junior’s mind he’s thinking, “I just wish he would actually think. My mom suffers, my brother suffers, everybody suffers.” Junior heads to the living area and plops on the couch and goes on his phone, scrolling through ClickClack. Then he gets a call from a friend, Taven. He picks it up, “What’s good, monkey boy.” “Sup monkey. Bro me and the gang plan to chill at the theaters today, we wanna watch Unacceptable You 3, movie starts at 1:30 so if you plan to come, get ready.” The call ends and Junior stares at his phone, he sighs. “Madre, can I chill at the theater with some buds to watch a new movie?” Across the room, “Sure honey just get ready and I’ll drop you off before the movie starts.” Junior smiles and heads to his room to change out. A couple hours later he gets dropped at the theater and meets up with his friends, they buy popcorn and some soda. 2 hours later after they met, the movie finished and everyone is exiting the theater. Richard takes a sip of Prepie and suggests, “Yo, have y’all finished the 5th part of that anime I recommended?” Junior nods and Taven responds, “I only read the manga part, haven’t watched the anime version just yet.” Junior asks, “So, was Saber unable to come or somethin?” Taven nods, “Yeah he was busy being an Otaku and keeping his ‘figures’ in jars if you know what I mean.” Richard snickers, “That’s crazy, who knows. Maybe he actually is an otaku, remember when he bought that one ‘silly’ toy?” Junior chuckles from the comment. They just start walking down the street. Richard spoke, “Yo I’m pretty hungry, how about we head to a Jeffrey’s and get us a sub sandwich.” Taven thinks and responds, “Nah I got more plans, i’ll see ya guys later.” Junior and Richard say bye and walk down the street towards Jeffrey’s. Junior just puts on earbuds and listens to his playlist, the two just continue walking. Richard then spoke, “Yo let’s take a shortcut, it’s by this parking lot.” Junior gulps, “Damn you sure? Hope we don’t get jumped haha.” Richard chuckles, “Nah we’ll be fine.” Walking down the stairs, they both get shivers due to them going into a dark area with a few lights. Junior looks around just to make sure, and Richard is just jamming to his own music. They’re almost out of the parking lot, the light outside is near. But then, a gunshot fires to Junior’s shoulder. He lets out a pained scream and falls on his back. Richard sees this and gets down, “Oh shit!” Then another gunshot fires hitting Richard on his rib. He falls bad. Two men hiding behind a car get up, one speaks into a phone and hangs up. They both walk up to their limp bodies. One speaks a loud, “Finally found the lil kid of the traitor. After we caught a glimpse of that familiar face I followed the brat and cornered him here. Now we can make things worthwhile.” The men chuckle. As Junior lays on the floor struggling, Richard speaks softly to him, “I got a p-pocket knife. Try to lure them in and I’ll get them.” Junior breathes heavily and nods. Then he shouts, “What do you guys want with me! I did nothing to you-” One of the men hit him on the cheek with their elbow hard. “Such your ass up! We got our orders and you can get explanations once you’ve been delivered!” Junior coughs blood, “God, help me.” The men chuckle, “God? Nah this kid is prayin, what a joke.” Then from behind them, Richard pulls out his pocket knife and stabs them both on their backs. They groan loudly and nearly collapse, Richard just continues to stab them mercilessly on their backs. As the men try to hold their ground and power through the stabbing, Junior gets up and knee one of them in the face and breaks their nose. The one guy falls and Junior knees the other in the face also. They both collapse and already try to get back up. Junior yells “Richard get their guns!” Then Richard tackles them down and searches their pockets for guns, he then takes both of their guns and gives Junior one. The two point the gun at the men, Richard yells, “Give us one reason not to kill you two for an attempt of kidnapping kids!” One man coughs blood and shakes as he tries to look up at Richard, “Heh, would a kid with the potential to have a bright future really risk it all just to be petty and murder a man?” Richard scoffs, “I could claim self defense, no charge on me. I’ll even be somewhat of a hero to school haha.” Junior rolls his eyes, “Hey you need to calm down, don’t be cocky. As for you two little fucks. Tell me now, who the hell ordered you to get me. Your gang leader? Why does he need me so badly.” One man laughs, “Please, as if we-” Then the other interrupts, “Your father owes his debt of work and jobs. You need to substitute as the next man of the family. If you don’t then we’ll kill every last of your DNA in this world.” The other man then hits the guys noggin hard. “You idiot! Should’ve just shut the hell up when I told you. But it is true. Your bloodline owes us, the leader hires the lowers in order to take you in. If you keep rejecting us then he’ll come after you himself. Trust me when I say he’ll get the job faster than us. You being our target is merely a test of skill, you won’t survive any longer in the world. You have one last chance, he’ll send two more men and if that doesn’t work then it’s game over for you.” Junior gulps hard, Richard looks at Junior in shock and confusion. Then both of the men pull out spare guns in their pants. Richard and Junior quickly ready their guns, but the men shout, “If we go back without you then we’re dead meat anyways! Live, laugh, lord Hitmoshi!” They both pull the trigger, blowing their own brains out. Junior and Richard gasp in disgust and back up, their clothes splattered with blood. Richard gets shivers down his spine, and Junior nearly vomits. “I-I never saw someone commit suicide before. Th-this is new.” Junior says quietly. Richard nods and coughs before speaking, “Junior why did you never say you had beef with the fucking mafia!?” Junior yells back, “Not the mafia! Calm down! Just- with a few gang members now and then.” Richard sighs, “Is this why you always have makeup on?” Junior shifts his eyes, “How did you know?” “When we make jokes and laugh, you laugh so hard that you cry. Which makes the makeup create a line on your cheeks.” Junior looks down in shame, “Yes, I use makeup to cover bruises.” Richard scoffs, “And you never told us, we could’ve had your back. Is this why you skip hanging out after school? Just so we don’t get involved? We’re friends, we got each other’s backs. Even if we have to fight everyday.” Junior yells, “I don’t want us to fight every day! I’d rather us be in peace and go to school without any worry.” Richard yells back, “That’s why we’ll fight back! So we can go to school without worry! That’s why I’m deciding for you, we are going to fight against this gang!” Junior gives a face of shock, “Hell no! We’ll die! I only protect myself from a couple at least a few times a week, if we face the gang head on then we’ll get jumped!” Richard smirks, “It won’t just be us, we got friends man. The whole friend group, we’ll be with each other.” Junior yells, “Do not involve the others! Once you start a bad reputation with the gang then your entire bloodline is part of the steaks!” Rich sighs, “If so, if they really appreciate you and want you as a friend forever, they’ll accept the risk.” “No I can’t live with that! Please, if any of them get hurt or worse, I’ll never forgive myself.” “But it’s not your fault is it. It was your fathers, even you suffered. It’s not you who started the conflict. You’re just like one of us, who will end it.” Junior looks down and glares at the dead bodies, “You guys need to prepare for the worst though. If you guys do this and think it’ll have a happy ending then you shouldn’t come. You have to understand anything can go wrong and to not come to the fight empty handed. I don’t care if you guys have pride. Y’all need weapons, hide them with you or whatever.” Richard nods, “This is to keep our friendship safe so of course we’ll do the most to solve it. No limits.” Junior sighs and stares at the body. He pulls out the phone and calls the police. A few minutes later, cops arrive to retrieve the bodies. The two then explained what occurred and went home safely. Richard didn’t tell his family what happened and gave the excuse that he had an incident during the theaters. Junior went home and came up with a similar excuse. He took a quick shower and brushed his teeth, he changed into comfortable clothes to sleep in. Before he slept his head was spinning again with thoughts, keeping him from a good night’s sleep. However these thoughts are worse than before, now it’s troublesome due to guilt and more trauma about to build up. He and his friend got attacked, witness two suicides, learned that he and his entire friend group will be exposed to danger, possability of watching people die. He can’t calm down. In a desperate situation he slowly put his hands together, and deep in his struggling mind, and prayed. His heart slowing, and mind clearing. He just prayed until his drowsy eyes finally shut. Allowing him comfort and to sleep. Preparing his body and mind for the future and what riches or horrors it could bring to his regular weeks in life.
