Author’s Note
This story does not have a happy ending.
It wasn’t meant to. When I wrote this book, I was in the middle of a terrible depression. Love felt like an impossibility. Loyalty seemed out of reach. Happiness looked impossible.
So I wrote a story about a boy and a girl who truly love each other and cannot be together.
They simply cannot be. It’s impossible.
Writing this story helped heal my heart. I believe again. And while I don’t give them a happy ending in this book, I kept writing, and in future books, my characters find happiness.
So did I.
I hope you feel everything when you read this. And I hope you emerge stronger.
