Prologue
The first shove came when maya was reaching for her locker.
She didn’t even see who did it — she just hit the cold metal and heard the laughter behind her.
“Oops,”Rachel smirked. “Did the ghost fall again?”
Lana grabbed her sketchbook before maya could react.Pages flipped. Private drawings exposed.
”Oh my God,” Kim said. She’s still drawing this freaky stuff? What is this supposed to be even — her dead friends?!
Maya didn’t answer. She learned that silence Hurts less then speaking.
”smile,” Lana said, raising her phone. Flash.
Maya stayed on the floor gathering the pages.
No one helped.
No one looked.
They all walked past — like she wasn’t even there.
That was the moment Maya knew:
It wasn’t just the girls who hated her.
It was the silence that kept her broken.
