Introduction: Author's Note
Hi everyone,
Please note that these short stories are focused on gay/MM themes and characters. These stories may contain sexual references and explicit descriptions of MM sex. As I think that the stories may fall between two stools, if I add a story that I consider 'full on' erotica, I'll give you a heads up. That way, you can choose how far you want to dip your toe. If LGBT themes and sexual activity are not your thing, thanks for popping by, I hope you find something more to your tastes elsewhere on this great site. But if this is your thing, please read on.
Since I joined Inkitt, I've been working on three main stories in the gay erotica genre. Each of these has grown in my head over time so that I can see them taking many more chapters to complete than I'd originally thought. What I've found interesting as someone developing their writing skills is that what started as 'sex stories' have started to become more complex and layered stories. Maybe I'm kidding myself and you wouldn't agree, but regardless, I've found my head beginning to fill with stories that are broader in focus than where I started.
As any writer will probably tell you, you never get to focus on just those main things you maybe should be. Just because you have a plan and a focus (of sorts), doesn't stop those other ideas from knocking. And so, while thinking and planning my main stories, and staring at my work laptop getting ready to get stuck in, I found myself instead typing out a story that just seemed to flow onto the page (Summer Shorts).
It landed on the page feeling, to me at least, almost fully formed. I read it through a few times and (pats self on head), realised that I still liked it! So, as a thank you to any of you who have read, commented, reviewed or followed me - and, importantly, been patient with the often slow pace of my writing - I have decided to start this little side project of sketches, scenes and asides, which I have called 'Summer Shorts'.
I won't make any promises! I don't know how this will pan out! But I would love to hear from you. Does this story (and hopefully future ones to come) speak to you? Would you like to know more? Or do you like it as is?
Thank you Inkitt fam! I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed writing it.
