Chapter 1

My name is Tamira, I’m 15.

I go to Pine-Ridge High School.

You may of heard of it. Its an all girls boarding school, practically impossible to get in, they only take around 50 students a year.

Not to mention, it’s the best school to get into, some girls can only dream of going there — obviously they’re oblivious to what it’s really like.

And trust me, I’m not bragging I go there — quite the opposite actually. To say it’s well known is an understatement.

But, it’s also got a darker side it’s well known for; one that not a lot people choose to talk about, the one that girls are oblivious to, and the one that parents ignore, just to be able to say that their child went there.

Apparently the good out weighs the bad. But one of my best friends, Abigail, didn’t agree with that, so she spoke up about it, she told me everything, our whole year everything.

Not even a week later, she disappeared.

The police didn’t do anything, her parents didn’t do anything, and neither did my friends.

I think the school was the reason she disappeared, I think that’s why everyone kept quiet. I think they covered it up just like all the girls Abigail told us about.

Personally, I don’t believe she told us the whole truth.

I think that’s what got her killed. I didn’t say anything though, I kept quiet, I let them keep me silenced.

But truthfully, it was more than that. I was scared, terrified, even.

It was like I am  the only one who knows her, well, did know her.

And, if I do mention Abigail, my friends shoot me these weird looks, as if I’m the crazy one.

Maybe I am. Who knows?

The only thing I know is that I’m going to speak up.

I’m going to say what I have to say. I’m not going to let anyone silence me, not like they have before me, and definitely not like they did Abigail.
