Such a great story

"I really enjoyed this story. I appreciate you explaining the different things that were native to your language and culture. This a cute story of how misconceptions can make you misjudge people. This an important lesson for teenagers to learn. I look forward to reading more of your stories "

Puts the A in YA!

"Reviving any story written in the past is incredibly difficult and I commend you as a writer for going back and revamping this story! It was very fun to read and following Gabby and Kevin as they grow from dislike to friends to lovers. It was a cute read over all, especially with the story line of Kevin’s forgiveness arch with his cousin/brother Francis. Gabby showed a lot of growth as well. Her realization that Kevin was the one the whole time as well as her growing bond with him shows that we only love the way we know how. Especially as young teens, our view of love is very puppy-love idealization. And real love is seeing people for who they are and taking the time to understand them. I think some thing I would’ve loved to see more was more side-character influence in Gabby’s and Kevin’s relationship and how they initially viewed each other. Especially because Gabby saw Kevin as a terrifying bully but Kevin didn’t come off as terrifying but rather intimidating. But overall, I really did enjoy reading reading this story. It made me feel young at heart and I kind of miss reading YA tbh. Good job Tatiana. Looking forward to reading more in the future."

A Culturally Rich YA Story of Growth and Connection

"This is the kind of story that slowly pulls you in. Before you realise it, you’re emotionally invested in every glance, every misunderstanding, and every quiet moment between the characters. It offers a refreshing and emotionally engaging read, with a strong sense of cultural richness that adds depth and authenticity. While some readers might struggle with the niche local lingo, I found that it added to the atmosphere rather than detracting from it. The setting feels distinct, and the inclusion of local elements enhances the overall tone of the narrative. A bit more detailed description of the environment would further strengthen the sense of place and immersion. As the story unfolds, it becomes increasingly compelling. Gabby and Kevin’s struggles are portrayed with sensitivity and realism, making it easy to become invested in their journey. There were moments where their interactions genuinely stayed with me, for example, the shift from tension to reluctant understanding between them felt especially authentic, and I found myself really rooting for them despite their flaws. Their dynamic is particularly well done, and watching their relationship develop was so rewarding. Although the characters are in their late teens, the themes of misjudgement, forgiveness, grief, and emotional neglect resonate on a much broader level. The emotional core of the story, especially their shared experiences of loss and feeling like a second choice, adds real weight to their connection and growth. That said, the first 5 or 6 chapters feel less polished in comparison to the rest of the story. There are occasional grammar and phrasing inconsistencies in the opening chapters. And at times the characters come across as younger than their stated ages, which slightly weakens the initial characterisation. However, this improves noticeably as the story progresses, with the writing and character depth becoming much stronger and more consistent. At its heart, the narrative is about growth, understanding, and learning to truly see one another. The emotional depth, combined with a fresh and youthful voice, makes this a story that stays with you. With a stronger opening to match the quality of the later chapters, this would be an especially compelling and memorable read."
