Prologue

The crowd gathered in the grand courtyard erupted into chants of “Maharaj Gopesh ki... jai!” as Maharaj Gopesh stood on the ornate royal balcony, surveying the sea of eager faces. With a graceful motion of his hand, he signalled for silence.

“My dear subjects, we have assembled here today to celebrate the joyous occasion of the birth of my first child,” Maharaj Gopesh announced, his voice resonating through the courtyard. As he spoke, a hushed murmur spread through the crowd, and a royal messenger approached the king and whispered something in his ear. Maharaj Gopesh’s expression shifted subtly as he processed the message.

“Apologies,” he continued, addressing the crowd again, “I misspoke. It is a momentous day as we welcome not just one, but two heirs to the throne.”

The atmosphere was electric as the crowd erupted into a chorus of joyous cheers, their voices blending into a cacophony that filled the air with infectious energy.

Amidst the bustling crowd, a sudden commotion caught everyone’s attention. Instead of the usual blue-armoured guards, a group clad in yellow armour gathered. Panic spread through the crowd as people frantically ran for safety.

The royal messenger ran to the castle, breathless and panicked. “My lord,” he gasped, “The princess has been stolen!”
