Chapter 1: Everything Normal
It was the summer of 1946. A few months had passed since the recovery from Third Reich. He had meanwhile heard from his partner what else his former girlfriend Austria wanted to tell him, since she had sadly sacrificed her life for him and since there was no one else but her underage sons, he finally took over her entire country from now on. Reich was still mourning her a bit. Reich continued to have trouble using his wings as they were the only part of his body that still had problems from his coma, but things got better. It was probably because his wings have a lot to do with his Niranian energy.
His youngest daughter GEAU had become the best flyer in the entire family as she relieved her stress from flying when Reich was away. Her father, Soviet Union, used to joke that she was guaranteed to be able to fly for a week without a break, but no one knew if it was really possible. Everyone was very happy that Third Reich was back home. It was already early August. GEAU was an early riser and today she woke up early again. She lay in bed between her parents as she had claimed again that she had a bad dream so she could lie in bed with them.
GEAU started to shake her father awake. "Angel, I'll be up in five minutes. I just want to get some rest and don't even get the idea of waking up your mother!", murmured the tall Countryhuman. It's been since Reich and Soviet married that it always tricky with the labels, as it was hard to tell who was meant, if everyone considered the two as their father and referred to them as such. So they agreed that Reich is referred to as 'mother' and Soviet is referred to as 'father'. This changeover was particularly difficult in FRG and GDR, but ther brother Germany had no problem with that. After more than three years, FRG and GDR couldn't get used to the fact that they now have to live with Soviet Union and his children.
In any case, her little sister didn't understand what the two had against their father. GEAU didn't listen to her father and snuggled up to Reich, who then woke up and gave his daughter a sleepy look before closing his eyes again and trying to sleep again. "Mom wake up!", his daughter complained to him. Reich folded his wings over himself and murmured: "Angel please let me sleep." "No, I'm hungry!", she said. Then someone pulled her away from behind her. "Leave your poor mother alone, he's got enough things to get upset about these days anyway.", said her father. He huged her so she wouldn't get to Reich.
After a short while, Third Reich was breathing more calmly and GEAU and Soviet crept out of the room. Soviet went to the stove and cooked her breakfast. By now some of the other children had gotten up and gone downstairs. It wasn't long before the meal was ready when he was hugged from behind and wings wrapped around him. Reich asked him: "Darling, please come back to bed, I can't sleep without you." "Fine, but first I'll get breakfast ready.", he pointed out. Furthermore, his husband didn't let go of him. When he was done, he said to the children: "Children, you can get breakfast from the kitchen.", the father clarified, "I have to put someone to bed here."
Already he was picking Reich up and carrying him back to the bedroom where they laid down and his partner snuggled up to him. Soviet Union put the blanket over him and himself. It wasn't long before Reich's strength waned as he fell asleep again. Soviet actually wanted to get up again after his husband fell asleep, but instead he fell asleep himself. Around noon Soviet woke up again to find Reich gone. He got up and stretched before going downstairs and saw that Reich was playing with the children in the garden. He happily watched his partner play catch with the children. Eventually Soviet went into the kitchen and made himself some coffee, then went outside to join his family.
Once outside, he sat on the wooden bench and watched Reich run after the children, which made him giggle. It took a while before the exhausted Third Reich went over to him, sat next to him and drank from his coffee. "Thanks for the Coffee! Get your own!", he said, chuckling. Soviet Union knew he was joking again and kissed his forehead. He snuggled up to him. Then it occurred to him: "Am I really going to get to know the rest of your children in a few days?" "Yes and don't forget that they are part of your family as well.", he replied. Reich started to nod and snuggled even closer to him. Soviet slipped an arm over his shoulders and pulled him closer.
Additionally, Soviet Union kissed his forehead again. After the light kiss, Reich turned to his husband and kissed him on the lips. Some of the children watched and rejoiced while others just rolled their eyes. After the kiss, Soviet put his hand on Reich's cheek and looked deep into his sky blue eyes. Reich also looked deep into his golden yellow eyes. "I love you.", the taller of the two whispered. After Soviet whispered this, Third Reich kissed the hand on his cheek and whispered back: "I love you even more." "And I love you the most.", Soviet said. Reich continued, "No, I love you the most."
"Why can't we ever agree on who loves the other more?", Soviet asked him. The smaller Countryhuman just shrugged. "You're cuter for that!" "No, you're cuter!", Reich said. "There we go again! We can't agree again!", giggled Soviet. At that, Reich began to giggle as well. Reich came even closer to his husband and snuggled into his chest. Soviet Union held him even closer that Reich sat on his lap and leaned against him. Soviet put his arms around him and held him tight. Most of the children had already gotten used to the fact that their parents were cuddling all the time.
It didn't take long for Soviet Union to get up to take care of lunch while Third Reich went to his office to do some paperwork. After about an hour, Soviet Union called everyone to lunch and after he had eaten, he also went to his office. Luckily the kids didn't have to go to school as they had summer vacation and some still preferred to be homeschooled as it felt safer, they were still Countryhumans after all and their parents owned different countries. After a few hours, Reich went over to the children and chatted with them briefly, as he was still losing his strength quickly, which has been happening to him every time for the past few weeks.
After playing, Reich practiced some math with some of the children before continuing to play. At some point Soviet was finished and went shopping and sent off letters. He then busied himself with counting different coins before playing with the children as well. He then cooked dinner and ate with his family. A little later they played board games, played with figures, read books or drew. It was night and everyone was in their beds. Reich had read the children a story, wishing everyone a good night and sweet dreams, before laying down next to his husband and falling asleep by his side.
