Chapter 1.1 - Eldoria and the Storm

High up in the majestic mountains lay the small village of Eldoria, nestled in a valley surrounded by snow-capped peaks and dense forests. The village huts clung to the hillsides, their roofs covered with fresh snow, and gentle smoke rose from the chimneys. In the center of the village, a church tower stood tall, serving as a landmark for the residents. The snow-covered fir trees around the village gave the scene a fairytale-like character.

The inhabitants of the village had lived in harmony with the harsh but breathtakingly beautiful nature that surrounded them for generations. Everyone knew everyone else, and helpfulness was a highly valued virtue.

In the midst of this peaceful community lived Elias and Sera, two inseparable children whose bond went deeper than just friendship. Elias was ten years old, a boy with wild, dark brown hair that always seemed a bit tousled, as if the wind constantly played with it. His green eyes sparkled with curiosity and a thirst for adventure. Elias wore a thick, padded jacket with a soft fur collar that kept him warm while he roamed the mountains and forests.

Sera, his best friend and spiritual sister, was eight years old. Her long, silver-blonde hair fell in soft waves over her shoulders and shimmered in the light like snow in the sunshine. Her bright blue eyes reflected the clarity of the sky, and her laughter sounded like the babbling of a mountain brook. She wore a warm, light blue jacket and a matching hat that protected her face from the cold. Her hand held Elias' tightly, as if she never wanted to let go.

The parents of Elias and Sera had once been best friends, their families sharing a deep and long-standing friendship. But two years ago, a tragedy struck the village: a violent storm swept over the mountains and swallowed both pairs of parents in its merciless force. Since then, nothing had been the same.

In this difficult time, it was Sera's grandmother who welcomed Elias into her home with an open heart and a warm house. The old woman, lovingly called "Nana" by the villagers, was a source of wisdom and comfort for the two children. She told them stories of times past, taught them the old songs, and helped heal their hearts.

The village community mourned the loss of Elias and Sera's parents together. Every attempt to find the missing ones had been unsuccessful, and so the hope that they might one day return lived on only in the children's hearts.

Despite the tragedy, the village found ways to carry on with life. The villagers supported Nana, Elias, and Sera with everything they needed. It was a time of solidarity and mutual help.

But deep in the hearts of the two children burned a flame of determination. They wanted to find out what had happened to their parents. They wanted to explore the secrets of the mountains, the legends and myths that the villagers had been telling for centuries, and perhaps - just perhaps - find their parents again.

One day, as Elias and Sera were playing hide and seek by the lake, the sky suddenly darkened. The rain began with such intensity that Elias immediately felt a sense of dread - it was as if the same storm that had swallowed their parents had returned. Desperately, he called out for Sera several times, his voice breaking with fear and tears: "Sera, please... answer me!" But the only thing he heard was her own frightened cry: "Eliaas, where are youu?"

Panic spread in Elias' heart as he ran towards his friend's voice. But the faster he ran, the farther her voice seemed to drift away. The dense, black clouds swallowed all light, and the storm raged mercilessly. After what felt like an eternity, the clouds suddenly parted, and the silence that followed was almost worse than the storm itself.

Elias desperately searched for Sera on the shore. His eyes scoured every corner until he finally spotted something shiny in the sand. It was the necklace he had given Sera to comfort her after the loss of her parents. Tears streamed uncontrollably down his face, and he called her name over and over again, his voice breaking with pain: "Sera, where are you? Please, come back!"

The village had noticed that the children were still outside when the storm began, and the villagers quickly ran to search for them. But everything had happened so fast. When they found Elias, he was kneeling on the shore, the necklace in his hand, his body shaking with sobs, and there was no trace of Sera.

For weeks, the entire village tirelessly searched for Sera. Every stone was turned, every corner of the mountains was searched, but she remained missing. Despair and sorrow cast a dark shadow over the once cheerful village of Eldoria.
