Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was one of the greatest composers of his time. He was born in Salzberg Austria on January 27th, 1756. He is the son of Leopold Mozart and Anna Maria Pertl. His parents had a whopping seven children. However only Wolfgang and his sister Maria Anna survived past infancy. Wolfgang was a child prodigy. A child prodigy is a child under the age of 10 who can produce music of a great level some at the same level of an adult expert. Wolfgang produced his first piece of music at the young age of five this was 1761 at the time. Can you imagine creating an expertise piece of music at the young age of five? His father was a talented violinist, conductor, composer, and music teacher who also taught his young son Mozart. He officially learned how to play music at four! Wolfgang learn simple notes on a harpsichord with his father by his side teaching him. In 1763, he and his sister, Maria Anna, went on tour from 1763 to 1766. At the start of his tour, Wolfgang was only 7 thus his sister was 11. They were supervised by both their parents, Leopald and Anna. When Mozart turned eight, he performed his first symphony in Belgravia, London—February 21st, 1756. Soon after, he and his family left for England. At the time he was 10 years old and performed a concert at Prince De Conti’s home. Such was the House of Bourbon. This was a major accomplishment for Wolfgang considering he was only ten at the time. The Bourbon family was a well-known dynasty at the time that ruled France for over 500 years! Throughout his life Wolfgang created over 600 musical works including operas, concertos, symphonies, and chamber music. His music could be described as beautiful for its complexity and emotional depth. He was an expert in the classical music genre and influence many composers who came after him. Some of his most popular works include “The Marriage of Figaro—1786, Don Giovanni The Magical Flute—1791, The Jupiter Symphony—1788, and the list goes on. Mozart lived a brief yet wonderful famous life. In conclusion, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was an excellent, extraordinary, young, talented performer and composer. He composed over 600 pieces of music and was a child prodigy until he died at the age of 35, yet his legend continues live and thrive on many many years later.
