Prelude
”So, all advanced courses. That’s a little ambitious,” Jungkook joked nudging Lei’s shoulder. They were walking through the quad towards Building A.
It was the first day of the fall semester. The yard that was sparse and empty was now green and healthy, bustling with students. Most of them had their eyes glued to their phones or tongues stuffed down each other’s throats.
It was nothing like the community college in her small town. Designer clothes and way too much skin showing at every turn.
”I wouldn’t say ambitious, these people don’t particularly look like scholars,” She responded jokingly fidgeting with the end of her braid.
He chuckled in response, resting his hand on her lower back. “Don’t let that fool you… They’re all nepo babies. She quickly put a placating hand to his chest stopping him. “Hey, it’s alright. It was my fault. I’d be annoyed if somebody walked into me too…”
He looked down at her then let out a huff as all his energy dissipated. She was too good for a place like this, he thought. “Try to stay away from that guy. He’s like a bad omen.”
“Is he?” She questioned with an amused brow, not believing in such superstition. He looked like a normal nepotism child to her.
Jungkook sighed, patting her head. “People steer clear of Tae and Lisa for a reason, I suggest you do the same.”
She looked back in the direction of the retreating couple. Why
