Before you dive into the book, let me tell you how Knot was born.
Back in 2018, I had a discussion with some colleagues about a popular reading platform that was actively deleting books with highly sexual content. My colleagues believed a team of readers was skimming through books and removing any that contained explicit material. However, I had a different theory. Given the sheer number of books on the platform, I hypothesized that an automated system was scanning for specific words—mainly those related to genitalia and sex—as a pre-screening method to flag potential violations.
To test this theory, I wrote Knot, a book filled with steamy scenes but intentionally avoiding explicit words. Every chapter is packed with sensual moments, nearly guaranteeing at least one per chapter.
Fast forward to 2025, and Knot is still on the platform. As of March 28th, it has amassed 992,000 views. I was so convinced my hypothesis was proven that I considered ending the experiment. But with the rise of AI—technology capable of understanding text beyond just keywords—I found myself excited again. So, Knot continues, regaining its purpose as a proof of concept, with new chapters still being added regularly.
That said, with an increasing risk of deletion, I decided to upload Knot to Inkitt as well. My fellow writers assured me that Inkitt doesn’t restrict explicit content, making it a safer home for the book. Knot may have started as an experiment, but with 185 chapters and counting, I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t be affected by its removal. Besides, if it ever does get deleted, I want to be able to say, Somewhere on Inkitt, there is "The Book That Survived."
With that in mind, understand that Knot was created with sexual content as its foundation, not a deeply intricate plot. The story exists, but it takes a backseat to the steam.
