Chapter 1: A Shocking Homecoming.

On a radiant day in the picturesque town of Fredericktown, young Michael Paine cruised down the shaded streets on his sleek 10-speed bicycle. Fresh from a day at Fredericktown High School, the 18-year-old lad with short light brown hair and gentle brown eyes was the eldest of six siblings. Among his younger kin were 3-year-old Ben, 5-year-old Hannah, 7-year-old Jonathan, 9-year-old twins James and Ruth, born a few moments apart, all under the loving care of their devoted parents, Rachel and Simon Paine. Rachel, a 39-year-old librarian of kind and nurturing disposition, and Simon, a 43-year-old foreman at a local construction company, worked tirelessly to provide for their large brood. As the sun began to dip below the horizon, Michael pedaled his way home, parking his trusty bicycle in the garage before making his way through the screened storm door. Eager to reunite with his family, he wandered through the rooms of the house, calling out for his mom and little brother. After an exhaustive search that took him from the family movie room to the laundry room and upstairs, a wave of relief washed over him as he spotted his toddler brother emerging from his bedroom. Michael was a true leader, captaining the boys' high school basketball, football, volleyball, and rugby teams. His athleticism extended beyond the field as he excelled in gymnastics. In a delightful display of versatility, he also showcased his musical talents by playing the French Horn in the Fredericktown Marching Band.

Michael gazed at his little brother and asked urgently, "Ben, where's Mom? Where is she?"

In the midst of playing with his toys in his bedroom, young Ben overheard his mother conversing with two unfamiliar men. Startled, he swiftly gathered his beloved Melissa & Doug Stuffed Animals and placed them within his elaborate Giant Lego House. Sealing all windows and doors, he concealed himself inside and listened intently. Emerging cautiously into silence, he embarked on a search for his missing mother, only to find her absent.

Michael was taken aback by his little brother's words, a chilling suspicion crept into his mind that their mother might have been kidnapped. An hour later, Hannah, Jonathan, Ruth, and James arrived home. Michael assured them that their mom had simply gone out shopping and would soon return. They took his words to heart. Another hour passed, and their father Simon came home from work. Michael informed him that his wife had gone shopping as well. Simon trusted his eldest son's word. As the evening hours slipped by, Simon served them dinner as they settled in front of the TV before heading off to bed. However, Simon couldn't shake off his growing concerns for his wife. The thought of reaching out to the police crossed his mind, but he knew they would advise him to wait 24 hours before filing a missing person's report. Simon feared they might assume Rachel left on her own accord and would return soon. Reluctantly, he decided to abide by the waiting period. Meanwhile, in the distant town of Camdenton, Susan Rhodes, Rachel's elderly 53-year-old mother, a woman of 5'9 with short light brunette hair and pale grey eyes, stood in the kitchen washing the dishes. Her mind wandered to thoughts of her grown daughter, son-in-law, and the grandchildren who filled her heart with love.

All at once, Susan's serene kitchen was interrupted by the shrill ring of the telephone. Setting down the final sparkling bowl into the drainer, she briskly dried her hands with a fluffy towel, then began her journey towards the ringing phone. With anticipation building, she reached out and grasped the receiver, bringing it to her ear.

With eagerness, Susan called out, "Hello?" as she eagerly awaited a reply.

In an instant, a soft voice murmured 'Mom' before Susan identified the speaker as her daughter Rachel.

Susan eagerly longed for a sign from her cherished adult daughter, Rachel. "Rachel, my dear, is that you?" she asked sweetly.

Rachel's voice trembled as she affirmed, "Yes, it's me, mom, it's really me."

Susan peppered Rachel with inquiries, showing worry, as she asked, "Is everything alright with you? And how about Simon and the kids?" A faint male voice could be heard in the background, engaging in conversation with Rachel.

Rachel comforted her mother with a quivering voice, "I'm fine, Mom, please inform Simon of my well-being, and convey my deep love to the children," as tears began to form in her eyes.

With apprehension, Susan asked, "Rachel, could you please tell me where you are and if you're injured? Is anyone there with you?"

A faint male voice urged Susan's grown daughter to conclude their call quickly, as Susan heard her weeping.

As the call came to an end, Rachel kept repeating, "I have to go, Mom... I love you, Mom... I love you, Mom."

Susan was stunned by the news and a wave of questions flooded her mind. She couldn't comprehend why her adult daughter was in distress, her thoughts racing to unravel the mystery. Anxious and alarmed, she phoned her son-in-law, Simon, to share the unsettling information she had just learned. Simon too was taken aback by the revelation, a chilling realization creeping in that his wife could have been forcibly taken, coerced into a situation beyond her control. With a sense of urgency, he made the difficult decision to contact the authorities.

In a secluded warehouse, distant from Fredericktown, Rachel Paine lay on a luxurious gold brass bed, enveloped in a soft comforter, in a heavily sedated state. Her eyes remained shut, arms delicately crossed over her chest. Suddenly, a mysterious figure entered the dimly lit room, carefully balancing a bowl of steaming water and four plastic bags containing Giant Plaster Gauzes. Setting the bowl on the table, the enigmatic individual placed the bags beside it.

He took a Giant Plaster Mold and put it on a heavily drugged Rachel Paine's body, as she settled into the plaster mold, he selected a piece of the Giant Plaster Gauze and immersed it in hot water until it was soaked. In deliberate steps, he approached Rachel Paine's bare feet, commencing the intricate process of wrapping them with the Giant Plaster Gauze. Skillfully, he encased her feet, methodically winding the gauze around them before moving on to apply another layer. Progressing upwards, he enveloped her legs, advancing towards her hips, stomach, abdomen, chest, and finally her neck. Her head adorned with a swimmer's cap, he gently covered it with the snug embrace of the Giant Plaster Gauze, until Rachel Paine was cocooned in its protective shell. The mysterious figure gazed upon a giant plaster gauze shell enveloping Rachel Paine, a smile playing on their lips.

Back at the historic Paine House, the air was tense as a police presence loomed. Simon swiftly dispatched his loved ones - Ben, Hannah, Jonathan, James, and Ruth - to the safety of his aging parents' home. Meanwhile, Michael remained by his father's side, steadfast in his determination to assist. Simon engaged in dialogue with a police officer, recounting detailed descriptions of his missing wife, from her appearance to her attire at the time of her disappearance. The telecommunications line had been intricately set up in anticipation of a potential ransom call from Rachel's abductor. Simon's heart swelled with a mixture of fear and hope, yearning for Rachel's safe return and praying that she would emerge unscathed from the clutches of her captor.

Meanwhile, back at the secluded house, a mysterious figure gazed at Rachel Paine's cocooned body. A sinister smile adorned his face as he planned to sell her. Swiftly, he began making calls in search of a potential buyer for the captive woman. Meanwhile, back at the Paine house, Simon's heart was heavy with worry for his beloved wife. He prayed fervently for her safety, hoping with all his might that she remained unharmed and untouched by those who had taken her.
