Sun
"The sky is filled with stars tonight"
i heard the man sitting on the bed besides me utter. His hair was similar to a stroke of sunshine, golden peeking through and his eyes reminded me of damp soil. his lips were thin but beautiful, nonetheless but what made him one of the most beautiful person I've ever seen is the contrast of his pale skin and his dark brown eyes.
"Yes" i replied. I lied. There was no sky and no stars. There was only white, only emptiness but i didn't have the courage to correct him.
"I like stars" he then said still having his head turned away from me and looking at the closed window covered with curtains.
I gave a quick glance at the window and said "hmm"
"Do you like them?" He asked and i couldn't stop myself from looking at his eyes. The only stars I've seen and known all my life were the ones present in his eyes. They were the most dazzling. If the sky is really beautiful as him, then i wouldn't mind gazing at the sky all day long without food and water.
"Yes, i love them very much" i replied, despite not even knowing what colour they shine but all i knew that they shined. They shined brightly as they can for my sun.
"you've never even seen them before" he replied back and i couldn't help saying "it's true that I've never seen them before but from what i think of your description of stars is that i see them everyday. i see them in your eyes. Tell me, do they shine just as bright?"
He went silent for a while. He then turned his head towards me and said "no, they shine even brighter. They shine just like you". The sentence got me pretty off guard but then i couldn't help giving a smile. Hearing that felt nice.
I gave a hum and asked "really?" to which he replied "of course, I will show you real stars someday, enclosed by darkness but still giving out the light. It's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my life"
"Promise?"
"Promise."
"Helios" i called out to him. He looked at me as a response.
"Is it even possible? Can i really see the stars someday, stars which are not enclosed by your brown eyes but the endless dark ink. The stars which shine so bright for you. Can i really?"
He was silent for a while before saying "Yes. I will make sure that you see them at least once. I'll draw a star for you everyday i failed to show them so please have faith in me"
"Okay" i said.
That day, the white felt a little less lonely.
