Prologue

Car crash…

Mark could hear spinning ringing in his ears, but he could not see a thing it was like his hearing sense had automatically increased with the amount of really loud ringing….

“Get help!” he could hear someone scream.

He had been in an accident… no they had been in an accident.

“Sir, can you hear me?” he heard someone say and it seemed like they were talking to him, but he couldn’t see anything.

He couldn’t see a thing, was the last thought Mark had before passing out.

“Hello, Mr. Lance seems like you are finally awake. The world definitely missed you this past two days”, he heard someone say but he wasn’t quite sure the person was talking to him as she said “awake” but he couldn’t see a thing. He fluttered his eyes testing them out indeed he was awake but he couldn’t see a thing.

“urmmm, hi”, he said testing out his speech but his voice sounded really croaky so he cleared his throat and tried again, “hello”

“Oh hi, forgive my manners. My name is Tabitha and I’m your nurse” she introduced herself. “Here you go, have a glass of water” he felt a cool glass against his lips.

“What’s going on? I can’t see a thing”

“I’m so sorry Mr. Lance; you lost your eyesight as a result of the accident”

Louder ear ringing…

Three years later, in Los Angeles, California…

“Look here”

“Look over here”

“Mandy, what do you have to say?”

“Did you really drug him?”

Were all Amanda could hear as she was escorted out of the courtroom to her ride home.

Sobbing sounds…

“At some point you are going to have to stop crying” Sophie, Amanda’s childhood best friend said. “We need to think of the next point of action, the next step”.

“I just want it to be over”, Amanda sobbed.

“And it is. You just need to lay low for a while and come back better and stronger.”

“There’s no coming back from this. I really need to leave L.A”
