Grandpa Calls

It's another December once again, a period where Christians celebrate the birth of their Messiah, this year Christmas comes with a whole lot of enjoyment as I my extended family are celebrating Grandpa's 85th bithday.

We had to travel to the Village as early as December 15th to get prepared for the celebration's which are Grandpa birthday which was on the 30th and our annual Christmas celebration on the 25th, we decided to make this year birthday a remarkbale one in Grandpa's life because he complains that we his Grandchildren and his Children, our parents aren't giving him the Kind of love he deserve after the death of Grandma who died ten years ago on the 27th of December 2075, three days before Grandpa's 75th birthday.

So it was celebration upon celebration this year, looking at the calender Grandma 10 year on the grave was on Saturday, but we decided to do it the next day which was her memorial thanksgiving and Grandpa bithday on Tuesday the exact day he was born.

As old as Grandpa was he never allows anyone to help him out of the bed, he do say that it was only the weak men that seek for support always, I was outside playing with my siblings and relatives when we heard a cal, it was dim as at first but became louder the second time, we knew instantly it was Grandpa's voice, we ran to meet him and there he was on his old rocking chair

"I found something very valuable my children", he said

" What's that Grandpa?", I asked

"It's an old diary of mine when I was just 15 years old" he replied me and showed us an old diary that the papers had already turn brownish in colour and the front cover had alredy been eaten off by some Termite along the back pages.

"This Diary I named it 2015 because it reminded me of the era when Nigeria hopes shattered", He coughed, cleared his throat, drank some water and continued "You all should grap a seat and listened to what I wrote on this lovely diary"

Well Grandpa has a whole lot of diary with different names written on them, Grandpa never tells us any fictional story but real life event that has happened in the past, the funny thing about all this is that although Grandpa knew that we likely may not understand his stories yet he tells us the more.

Cora: Decent story. Slightly predictable turn of events but I didn't think at this point it was a possible twist! I enjoy the stream of thought writing style this has, though some proofreading and punctuation could help a few spots. Recommend this for ebooks and forgive a few confusing errors. Enjoyable t...
