Eye Contact

(Jane)

I was laying in bed reading a book when I heard my younger siblings coming home; from leaving the park near our building. In walks my little sister Emma “Jane have you seen the family that just moved near us,they have kids like me.” I knew she was referring to kids her age.

A week goes by I have plans to do my regular routine, go to school hang out with friends and babysit my siblings. Mom works night shift some days so I am left to babysit the younger kid and do their night routine with them. One night I am babysitting Carly, Emma, Keith and Cole my younger siblings, Emma wants to go to the park. We go to the park Carly meets us there with our dog Kobi we have a nice time. On the way back home Emma spots the family that just moved near us . She say “See I told you they have kids.” Me and Carly just laugh it off. As we get closer Carly says “They have kids out age also.” We began to walk up the stairs to our second floor apartment when me and their oldest son makes eye contact.

Days go on our families see eachother in passing.Me and my siblings still attend school in another district so our day are always hectic. We always leave out earlier than the other kids in our apartment complex and we also return home later than everyone. I was so glad summer was only two weeks away.

I wish the book was a bit longer to show her life in the pack but then I thought many of us are surrounded by strangers and we can be non inclusive without realising the ...

Ku_Rolet: The novel was good, and I really enjoyed reading it. I love the leads and their bond, but I have one question that confused me. How could Tristan have been dreaming about his mate since he was a child if Omara was already mated to someone else before him? If Kyle had accepted Omara, would Tristan ne...
