Chapter 1 The beginning

The heavy rain pouring on the windshield makes it difficult to see the road. It was too risky to drive in the heavy rain. But he has to drive insanely fast. He drove like the madman, because his wife's painful cries making him lose his patience.

The pitter-patter of the rain kept her awake through her painful labour waves. Her only concern was her child that she wants to deliver safely. She was praying that they'll reach on time, that they'll all will survive this horrifying night.

"It's emergency, it's an emergency! Please take my wife in." He shouted to the closed doors. They reached the nearest hospital and was banging at the door hysterically.

A woman came outside and saw the crying lady, she immediately took her in and they went straight to OT. Luckily the doctor was there that night because of the weather.

He paced back and forth, praying and hoping for good. But he was so terrified, so many bad thoughts crossed his mind." What if they won't make it out alive?" he said to himself " hushhhhh, stupid everything's gonna be ok". He again went to praying.

After what felt like eternity, the doctor came outside with a huge grin."Congratulations sir, you are blessed with a baby girl", doctor said in a soothing tone. "What!!!! Thank you so much doctor. Can I see them?" he asked in a voice full of emotions. " Later, they're under observation and your wife lost so much blood that we had to transfuse blood , other than that nothing to worry about." doctor said, " Thank you so much doctor for saving them both. I'll surely pay you back." He said with tears in his eyes.

For a father and a husband, it's really excruciating to hear bad news about their wife and daughter or son. But he was lucky though, even after the heavy rain they made it to the hospital and that the hospital staff was very generous to them.

After few hours he finally got to see his wife and their lovely daughter. They transferred them to a room and his daughter was in a crib next to his wife's bed. The room wasn't so big like in other big named hospitals, instead it was small, with a bathroom on the left, a bed in the middle with a side table, a sofa in the right corner comfortable enough for someone who wasn't so choosy.

"Hey beautiful! Won't you open your eyes and see your daddy. I've been waiting for you eagerly and now you're sleeping, not talking to me, not giving me any fist bump." he said to the baby having tears in his eyes.

He still can't believe that he was blessed with a child , hell a daughter. He always wanted a daughter but he always thought that God will punish him for his wrongdoings, that he won't ever have a baby of his own. They went to many clinics but all of them told the same sentence " There's nothing wrong with you two. We don't see any reason why you won't conceive". That time he thought he was getting punished for his wrongdoings but his wife never gave up. She was very consistent and she kept praying. And yes, God do listens to them who keeps their faith in him.

" She has your chin and eyes" he was startled hearing his wife's voice." you're awake. How're you feeling now. Should I bring something for you to eat. You want to sit or turn in another direction? " He fired so many questions in one go, not knowing how to react. Seeing this his wife smiled and shook her head in No." I'm full seeing you with our daughter ". He kissed her wife's forehead and they both shared a moment of understanding and lots of emotions passed in their eyes which they don't have to put in words, that's how their love is." Sleep sweetie! You need rest and I'm here for you both. I'll take care of you both." She was already exhausted with all the labour pain, so she drifted to sleep holding his hands after giving a glance to her daughter.

PARIS IN THE DARK

Hester: Very good, was short too the point , not lingering on the abuse, pity you didn’t let him step in earlier knowing the abuse was happening, but this is almost real for some women who have gone through it, just wish they could all have a princess at te end of thete tunnel

Silver's Second Chance

Ashley: I enjoyed the story. It was a short one so the fast pace fit. I think something should be put in to show a time jump between paragraphs like a "****" just to make it easier to follow when we skip to the next day week or month. Over all a good read.
