Chapter 1
Honey exhaled stepping out of her bathroom. Her bedroom smelled of clothes and smoke. She put her head back. Honey ignored it finding some clothes to wear in her closet. Her door opened, Scott coming in. "Hey Honey." "What are you doing here all of a sudden?" "Right. So there's this college party I'm planning on going to. You wanna come?" "Um. Will Madison be there?" Scott shrugged. "Is she?" "No. That's why I'm asking." "I don't know. I didn't make the guest list." "Are we going to pretend I'm not naked?" "Don't be shy Honey. I'll leave and give you your privacy." "Thank you." He smiled. "Your welcome. I'll meet you in the kitchen. Your mom's making lemon cake." He walked out of her room. She shook her head smiling.

Honey walked down the steps. She was only in her mom's house until her dorm room was ready. Her and Scott have been friends since she was fourteen. Scott was only one year older than her. He was there when she sat down in the rain crying over her ex-crush. He just happened to be walking down the street. "Morning Mom." "Morning." Her mother was bi-racial, and Honey's father is black. Her father died of cancer a month before she was born. But her mom never ceased the moment to talk about him. "Are you baking cake early in the morning? It's breakfast." "...then it's a breakfast cake. Scott's not complaing." "Fire. You should try some." "No thank you. I'm just gonna settle with a soda." "If you insist." "How's college going for you both?" "It's fine." "Good enough. Hard work. My professor is like my father." Scott blew his breath. "How is Steven anyway?" "Still working out of town." "Has he come to see you yet?" He scoffed. "No." Scott rinsed his plate. "I gotta get goin or else I'm gonna be late for fitness training. You want me to drop you off?" "No. But thanks. I'll be 2 hours to late to my class." "Right. Later." "Later." "Later." Scott walked out of the house. Honey's mother Hannah looked at her. "You two should get married." "No! Never. Scott is my BESTFRIEND. "Of course." Hannah said chuckling. "Just. Find someone as respectful and caring as him." "Right because Scott is so careful." Her mother chuckled before suddenly going serious. "Go clean your room. And throw away anymore vapes or cigarettes." "Yes ma'am."
