Great story!

"The novel takes you into another time and world, and it does so in a very beautiful writing style. It is a queer lovestory in a historical setting and I am really looking forward to how it will play out. "

How I wish more of my students can write stories the same with this and eventually be good writers, the same with the author of this story..

"The characters are multidimensional and believable. I can tell that they grow though out the story. "

A historical forbidden love story (16 chapters read)

"The historical setting (set during the Spanish colonization of the Philippines) transports readers to another period, and the cultural and religious expectations from the main characters are not only very believable but even discomforting to the modern reader's mind. You can feel the burden of rules that define Isabela and Trinidad, even taste resignation and fear of what in those times was a sin or forbidden love. The subtle microaggressions against women, like how Isabale dressed, are reflective of the era. The writing is evocative and allows readers to draw their own conclusions without being told how to feel about the characters. Father Enrique creeps with the author needing to be explicit. Miguel comes across as a conniving social climber. My heart went out to poor Rafael. The notes with a glossy for Spanish words and their meaning is an excellent addition. I did struggle with the the descriptions dragging down the pacing and lack of story progression so far. So, here is hoping that'll change as the story progresses. Having said that, I do look forward to the updates. "

Los Dos Marias

"You have some really evocative writing especially in the first Chapter. It would be great to have footnotes related to culture specific foods and clothing etc. In one place you have really good notes about marriage etc., during this time period. Consider using more sensory details at times, like the mention of the food in the first chapter, which could be smelt, but what was the smell like? The plot seems predictable, although I will read more chapters, and I may be wrong. It seems that the character of Isabella, introduced in Chapter three, will be a love interest for Trinidad. This would mean a similar social difference/status to Rosa, who was her love interest at the convent. (I will revise once I have read more if this is a wrong assumption). In Chapter three there is a part where you say: "a basin held the remnants of her illness". This is obscure and culture specific. What might this mean? Perhaps more clarification would help the reader understand. Yes, it is made clear that it is related to witchcraft, but how. This section carries a sense of foreboding for what might come. Consider doing some proofreading to tighten up the spelling and grammar. This is a promising story with some great descriptive writing. Keep it up. "
