Prologue: Damion
Pure, clean, undisturbed snow, sparkling white in the afternoon. On a beautiful day in March, my brothers and I are playing. Soon the snow will be completely gone and spring will come.
Fall has always been my favorite season, not too warm and not too cold. Beautiful colors, oranges, reds, yellows, gold. The perfect time for my fingers to itch for my pencils, too splash that paint on a clean canvas.
Sure winter is a good season, but it can't always be happy. Snow storms, dark cold horrors. Spring is colorful, but it's too cheerful. Fluffy, cuteness of newborn animals, the beginning of all things. And summer, gosh summer- I used to love it. It's so hot and crazed. All everyone cares for is the water and a supposed freedom that's only going to end as soon as it's begun.
My family has tried to change my mind, they've tried to get me to be open-minded about everything. That's not easy for someone who's been set on one thing for so long.
Yet I never knew one thing, a person, could change my views in less than a second.
A soft, calming voice, speaking only words of kindness. Even about those who've destroyed the light. Large hazel-gray eyes, seeing only the good in all things. Watching with the wonder of a child. The gentle touch of one who is careful and protective of those important.
Someone who went through so much, yet never let it tear her to nothing. A girl with a heart so big and so kind that you'd believe kindness came from her.
All gold and light in a black and dark world. She changed it all, and it only took a day. A beautiful March day, where she crashed into my life.
She is my fall, she is all my seasons.
