wonderful novel with a pinch of spice
"It's impressive to see what you're able to develop and convey in 30 chapters! Like the previous novels about the Compas family, this one is superbly written, with a natural progression of events. The characters are complex, the reactions realistic and consistent with their personalities and insecurities... It's refreshing to see that kind of girl as a co-protagonist, shy and insecure, who leads a simple life... but harbors the flame of nonconformity deep inside. And West, even with his bad reputation as a womanizer, has more than lived up to his name! He's as sweet and decent as his siblings. This family is a gem! On the other hand, I loved all those scenes where it seemed like "their love story" was about to begin, but it didn't, only to finally see that it all led them to THAT moment. Seeing their paths constantly intersecting has been incredible. I also liked the number of spicy scenes, which did not take over the story. I would have liked to see how Jamie dealt with the relationship with her sister and the reactions of his group of "friends" when he revealed how Dan was acting."

"This was different in a good way, I wish it was a bit longer but I enjoyed this! I loved that she eventually stood up for herself because Creepy Dan was such a predator! This MF knew what her insecurities were and tried to use them against her and I'm glad West didn't step in. Girl had to save herself that time! Best story in this series so far! South's book seems like it's gonna be lit! I hope it is!!"
