Chapter 1
"Again with this suit?" I've been stuck reaching for it ever since I decided shopping for another was too big a hassle. It never fit right. Always tugging when I needed it to push, always sagging when I needed it not. A distraction more than dress. And still, I dawn it, as a knight should, like the moon wills.
The ocean fills my every breath. Oh yeah, I made a vow here once, "to be here now, and forever till." Wow what a promise l made. So deep I had felt, I no longer needed to fake my feelings, my thoughts, I felt... I think I felt something new, that was it. Haha, feel so out of reach, that's news to me too. Be here I am, here again. Ah, these faces—friends from so long ago. Like family. So familiar. I find it odd; it’s like they searched for me. My steps here so easy, of course I'd be here so soon.
Sand always felt so dull, that humming in the silence, the black of shut eyes. It was this different type of peace to me, one so hard to comprehend, and uneeded to be explained. Huh, the sun is so low now, just a minute ago—
"Hey." My heart aches as if pierced by a dagger, yet warm, it brings with it more. Electric, animate butterflies beat their wings furiously within me. I can feel my head become hot as their bodies gather up. A blush. No other voice, nor smile could ever be so delicate, and so, never forgotten. I feel the words I need tumble through my lips, but they do not reach. Foot after another fall closer to them, but I do not move. Reaching, the pads of my fingertips graze their skin, but nothing more than a gust of wind. If only you knew, if only I could say, “I found my way, back to you.”
