ETERNITY

Julie Ruiz a former photographer and now a Beauty line owner, married her wife, Dr. Cindy Ruiz. Julie has always been an independent woman and was supportive of her loved ones.  Cindy works at Stanford Hospital and is well-liked by her family. friends and colleagues. They were married on Valentine's Day and had the same birthday in July. 

Fast forward several years... Julie now has a third business that makes expensive jewelry that sells only off the web. This is her most successful business. Today was Valentine's Day, their wedding anniversary.  They are in Lake Tahoe enjoying their wedding anniversary.  Instead of staying in a hotel, they rented a cabin that overlooks the lake with a breathtaking view.

" Cindy the boat is here for us. Let's go water skiing.  I want you to drive first. Our nephew, Pablo will go first. Remember what I taught you. You will do well. I will be right by you." 

"THANK YOU FOR BEING PATIENT WITH ME AND ALLOWING ME TO DO THIS."

Julie hugs and kisses her wife after they put their life vests on. Pablo already has his life vest and water skis on.  He is excited to be here this weekend with his wife, Lisa Gomez Leon, a well-liked nurse at Stanford Hospital.  This a vacation for them both. They both love being in Lake Tahoe with their aunts.  This is their first vacation in a long time.  Pablo is a music teacher and has a busy schedule, which prevents him from taking vacations.

" Tia I am ready. You will do well.  If it gets too much,  I will let go of the rope.  Tia or my wife will let you know.  Come back for me."  "Thank you, Pablo, for trusting me. I am a little scared but know I won't let you down. Plus our wives will kill me."

Julie and Lisa laugh.  Lisa now has her life vest on too.  Cindy starts the boat once Pablo is in the water and standing somewhat straight with the skis on. Cindy starts slowly not just for herself but for Pablo.  This is Pablo's first time water skiing.  He is just as scared and his wife is the only one who knows it. He winks at his wife as he is skiing. He is doing great and gets tired. He lets the rope go and lands in the water.

"Babe turn around and go get him. You both did well on your first time. I am so proud of you both."

Julie kisses me as I steer the boat to Pablo. Pablo gets on the boat with his wife's help.

"Whew, that was fun but scary.  Thanks, Cindy, for doing this for me."  "You're welcome, and thank you for trusting me. Especially since it was my first time. Who is next?"

" Auntie I will go next. I am ready."

Pablo sits down, places his glasses on, and sips a bottle of water.  He looks at his wife who stands up with her knees bent and ready for Cindy to go. When Cindy starts going, Lisa is doing flips and having a ball. She finally is just skiing regularly.  She finally lets go of the rope. My Tia tells Cindy to turn around to get my wife.   My tia and I help my wife in the boat. My aunt Cindy is now in the back on the water skiing with my Tia steering the boat.  Cindy is enjoying herself. She stays up longer than my wife and I had. Julie is the only one who doesn't water skiing.  She just wanted us three to have fun.  We finally are on the dock.  We decided to go have lunch at a nearby restaurant on the water. Cindy and her wife have sarongs on with their Adidas slides. I have flip-flops on, and my Tia has her black and pink Adidas slides on.

" Lunch is on me for you all trusting me today.  I didn't think I would enjoy steering the boat and doing it well."

"Babe we all had faith in you. You had a good teacher. "

We all laugh and sit down enjoying the water and seeing others enjoy themselves.  We order a beer each and look at the menu.  We finally tell the waitress what we want.  Our nephew and niece ordered another beer. Cindy and I ordered a pitcher of ice tea and asked for two more glasses of ice for our niece and nephew.

" Aunties, I got us tickets to see JLo today at the casino this evening. Pablo wants us to eat there too. We can go to the smorgasbord and choose what we want on us. You two paid for the cabin and the boat rental. "  " Mija sounds like a good evening for Valentine's Day. By the way, how's your new home coming along?"

" Julie it will be finished when we return. We both have taken more time off from work to move in and get settled. We enjoyed living in Julie's home but a house of our own will be nice.  The people Julie leased it will love it like we did. They are glad you are allowing them to use some of the furniture.  We both appreciate Julie giving us a lot of the furniture from the main house and the guest house. We didn't have to buy furniture. This allowed Pablo and I to have a bigger house built by yours.  Pablo likes living in the country as well as I do. I know our commutes are longer. We will stay in the guest house with you when the weather is too dangerous to drive to the country. " Lisa and Pablo,  I am glad. Especially, so Cindy won't be alone.  Cindy and Lisa can carpool. I am glad I could save you two money."

We are eating our lunch. The bill and tio are paid.  We all walk back to the dock.  Julie drives us back to the cabin.  Pablo and ties up the boat.  We all remove our life vests and leave them.  Each of us gets our skis and leave the boat with the rolling ice chest with beverages inside.   We all decide to leave for the casino once we shower and take a nap. When we arrive at the cabin, we see three dozen roses in various colors with a note from Pablo.  We all hug and kiss him. He blushes.
