Summary
The world of Avalon - dating to it’s origin - has always relied on magic. Now as magic is mysteriously disappearing, it’s people are struggling to adapt. Opal De Luna is a Gifted, a holder of magic like millions of others. As magic fades away so do Gifteds. The remainder of the Gifteds get evacuated to the reformed Avalon Academy, built on a source of magic that protects all magic around it. Opal’s povertous background has always been a hinder, but now as the world collectively resets she feels as if finally given a second chance. Opal soon finds out that the promised safety haven isn’t as promised at all and follows cultish regulations to keep the students in check. Opal and a few fellow students take matters into own hands into finding out why Avalon is falling apart. To restore magic they will have to recover fragments of the past and defeat monsters of the present. But, it soon seems someone or something wants to make sure magic never returns. A hidden perpetrator? A public figure?
Well, it soon seems that thing is bigger than any of them could ever imagine.
