Summary

Getting pulled over on Christmas Eve isn't what Regina wants to deal with. She just wants to go home, make some red and green pudding, and maybe get in a couple of Christmas movies. But when she realizes who is pulling her over, suddenly, Regina doesn't mind so much anymore. Because Sailor Baxter is a sinfully hot woman, and they've been dancing around each other for a while now. So, when Sailor makes her a deal to get her out of her ticket, Regina snags it with both hands.

Chapter One

Regina

I swayed side to side in the driver’s seat of my car as I waited for the light to change, belting “Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer” at the top of my lungs. It was Christmas Eve, and I’d just finished my Christmas Eve shift at the grocery store I was the store manager of. While I could have taken today off, if my employees couldn’t, I wasn’t going to.

Because that wasn’t fair. If corporate was making them suffer on a day they should have been with their families or at least been at home chilling, I was going to suffer right along with them. It was only fair, and the fact that my employees knew I didn’t use my manager status to my advantage helped me be the best store in the district. My employees loved working for me.

The management team really did make or break a work environment.

The light turned green, and I hit the gas just as the song changed to “All I Want for Christmas is You” came through the speakers. I squealed in delight because, I mean, come on! Who didn’t love this song? I belted the words out to my heart’s content, not caring that anyone else’s ears might bleed if they heard me if I had to stop for another light.

It was Christmas Eve, and I was determined to enjoy as much of this holiday season that I could.

Until I heard those sirens and saw those blue and red lights flashing behind me.

“Fuck,” I groaned, reaching forward to turn down my radio as I slowed down to pull to the side of the road. Just how fast had I been going? The city didn’t have a noise ordinance, so I knew it wasn’t that.

Groaning, I rolled down my window, waiting for what felt like forever for the officer in the car behind me to get out and come get my license. They always took their sweet time, no matter who it was that pulled you over.

But my mood perked up when I saw a familiar face get out of the car—Sailor Baxter. She frequented my store quite a bit, whether she was grabbing groceries or making sure we all made it safely to our vehicles at the end of the night. She and I had flirted quite a bit, and I was hoping like hell it would get me out of this ticket. I could afford one, but I sure as hell didn’t want to spend the money on one.

She barked out a laugh when she came to my window. Leaning her arms on the top of my car, she bent over, arching a perfectly manicured brow at me. She was make-up free, as always, allowing her natural beauty to shine through, and her pixie-cut, natural, red hair was styled perfectly, not a strand out of place. Just like always.

“Regina Steele,” she drawled.

I beamed at her. “Hi,” I greeted. “I wasn’t going that fast.” Truth was though, I had no idea how fast I’d been going.

She snorted. “Baby doll,” God, that name, “you were going fifteen over.” I cringed. Sailor’s grin widened. “What the hell were you doing that you weren’t paying attention to your speedometer?” she asked me.

Sheepishly, I turned the music up just a little bit so she could hear. “Singing?” I said, though it came out as more of a question.

She snorted as I turned the music back down so you couldn’t hear it. “I should have pegged you as that type of woman.” She tapped the top of my car. “Tell you what, doll.” I looked up at her, eager to hear what type of deal she wanted to make with me. If it got me out of this ticket and kept points off my license and kept my insurance rate down, I’d agree to just about anything. “You doing anything for Christmas?”

I shook my head. “My family is coming to my place since it’s my year to host Christmas, but other than that, no,” I informed her, confused as to what she wanted.

“Got room for one more?”

My eyebrows shot up onto my forehead. “You want to spend Christmas with me?”

Was I dreaming?

She licked her lips, running her eyes over me. My pussy clenched and throbbed. Heat and electricity thrummed through my body. “I want to do a lot of things with you, to you…” Her voice trailed off, but I got the memo. Oh, I definitely got the fucking memo.

“Will it get me out of my ticket?” I asked her.

Her lips quirked in amusement. “Yes, doll.”

I winked at her. “Then, yeah, come join us for Christmas. You know where my place is?”

Sailor smirked at me. “Oh, I can find out, baby.”

I licked my lips. “Show up this evening after your shift, and I’ll even let you do all those naughty things you want to do to me,” I teased her.

This time, she flashed me that wicked, naughty grin and leaned up off my car, walking back to hers. I watched in my side mirror as her juicy ass bounced with each step, the pants of her uniform hugging it perfectly.

Christ, I was fucked when it came to that woman.

MaybeInACentury: This is probably the best book I've ever read in a really really long time. I couldn't stop once I started. Golden find. Though I do wish the story was written in present tense rather than in past tense, or had an epilogue about what is happening now, it is a masterpiece.
