Chapter 1

Has anyone ever reached an age and is confused about whom to choose for a life partner? I have come to realise that this is common in people especially those that have reached a decision of finding a life partner.

Back in our high school years, Ann was a girl who was focused on whom she wanted to be in the future . However, she was madly in love with, Bright, a guy from the Nothern part of Uganda, who had promised her heaven and earth since her primary Six. And Bright really loved Ann, he cherished and respected her decisions.

But it was so unfortunate that the families w not in support of their relationship especially Ann's Aunt whom she was staying with by then in the city. She tried her best to seperate those love birds.

It all started in a way that everyone was not expecting it to happen, for Bright's mother took Ann as a family friend who loved her last born named Isaac who was three years by then. Ann was a loving soul to children, and every child of that age loved her company, she was never out of stories to tell to kids of younger age. But of all children, Isaac was her favourite, and thats how Bright was attracted to her.

The moment Bright learned about growing feelings for Ann, He had to gather courage on how he would utter it out.

"Should I tell her mouth to mouth or I should find another way to express my love for her? But if not that way, then how should I do it, Buying gifts wont tell it all, she will think otherwise, and still i dont have enough money to afford all those staffs" Bright's mind was full of such questions, until his younger brother "Derrick", advised him to be a man enough and speak his feelings out. But Bright wasn't courageous enough to  say it out until he got an idea.

In evening after he had come back from school, he freshened up, had a cup of evening tea served with popcorns.

On a veranda, he sat quietly with a book and pen in his hands, nobody knew what was spinning inside his mind, but he wrote something on the paper, then he called one the kids called susan.

He instructed her to give the paper to Ann.

As Ann was seated outside on the veranda preparing dinner with Julie, their house helper, her Aunt was seated in the living room as she was watching news when the sound was heard

"Ann, Ann, get this paper, Bright gave it to you." Susan shouted as she was running to Ann. Silence covered the place for some seconds but it felt like minutes. You know how embarrassing this is.

Before Ann opened the paper to read what was written inside, she heard her Aunt's voice calling out her name in anger like an angry lion and loud as thunder.

At that moment, Ann's heart was beating very fast like drums, wondering what was to happen the moment she reached her Aunt's presence.
