Summary

ABOUT THE BOOK The novel 'So Close’ is probably the first novel in the crime category, written by a Nigerian author, which could compete favorably with other novels in the same category by notable authors, like James Harley Chase and Robert Goddard e.t.c. It is also accompanied by a theme song from the author. The novel portrays characters, with lifestyles like that of individuals from highly civilized countries like America for example. This deliciously crafted novel entails the story of a millionaire playboy 'Ronald', who saw education as a means of escaping from responsibilities. He was lucky enough to be the only child and heir of a very rich couple, known as the Trager's family. The novel tries to recount how he got involved in a situation that transformed him from a carefree individual, into a murderer, and finally portraying him as a worthless but unfortunate individual. It all started on the day he decided to live more responsibly, by taking up the post as the director of his family's long time business, after his father passed away. It was on his way to catch a train home that faithful day, that he met the beautiful but mysterious Mrs. Rita.

PROLOGUE

PROLOGUE

The whole event of twenty years ago seems just like a rain of touch in a golden summer; coming back to me with a lot of slosh like the apex of a winter season. The apotheoses of my life, not too long ago before the beginning of those saga seemed clearer. Although you know the ‘where’ and the supposed to be ‘when’; the ‘why’ part of it all still remains a mystery. Of course it should be, until now at least; because I managed to persuade myself, to encompass it like a bird of prey circling it’s hunt, from the sky, just above a landscape. Both the routes I took, and the emotions I felt happens to remain unerased; instead, it led me into believing that it was an adjustable principle of life; even though the future remains inevitable, the moment it touches the past. Although you’ve all heard a substantious amount of those events, it still remained a mystery you want to understand. The fact that I am convinced you won’t understand any of my explanations, since you failed to understand my silence; would not make me selfish enough to leave out any details.
