Day 1 of the Holy Month

Year 220 of the 12th Nicʼprienlia Soxfem ronkxio kwakw, Day 1 of the Prierapoi

After taking blessings from the god of travel Kelzofaem, I departed from my birthplace Qampec in the north of the Southern frontier Provence to pay respects at the grand temple of the mother queen Kwakw. It will take me 10 days to reach the capital as I have some matter to attend to at the city of Xalerw by the Namric’a Sea. I am currently staying at a small lounge 7 hours from Qampec. Once the Xalerw matter is solved I wish to travel to go to the Capital as soon as possible and officially leave on my journey to the Western motherland. I have been writing to my acquaintance in K’aqe and they tell me a great deal about the riches of the Motherland which I wish to see for my own.

I learn Çadejan from friend in Gaxe city. I able to form basic sentence. I promice Practice everyday.

Ok that should be enough for today. I was told that the Sat’ec’an tongue is important if I wish to travel through the empire but I must admit it is a difficult language to master. The Harmony over the open sounds are pleasant to the ear but not to the hand. I do believe I can Converse in the tongue enough to travel through the empire. I can see Lien going over Ic’aen so I will end my note here and visit Qwic’en.

Analysis of the text "Travels through the lands of Oniomt’".

The text is written using the tradition Whac’a ink primarily made of carbon soot and animal based glue. The ink is likely from the Shakip region to the south of the Namric’a Sea basin. The text itself is written on pages made up of Vellum.

The date identified within the Text dates it to around 500 years BP(before present). The year is noted to be year 220 of the Holy Kwakw calendar, starting at the corination of the first 'mother queen' who formed the Greater Centeqe empire. The Day is noted to be The first day of the Holy month known as 'Prierapoi'(prie meaning holy and rapoi being an archaic word for month), which also denotes the beginning of the year.

The dialect used in this text was generally spoken in the Colonial Republic of Mac’ak. Although the writing style incorporates many aspects of the classical Noanfo spoken amongst the elite in the Republic of Centeqe. Indicating the individual being at least somewhat well versed in the classical texts produced during the Greater Centeqe empire roughly 70 years prior to this text.

The author describes wanting to pay respects to the mother queen on the last day of the holy month. The holy month lasts for 10 days reflecting the 10 years during which the Mother queen united the tribes of the Land and formed the Greater Centeqe empire. It is auspicious to pay respect to the Mother queen during the holy month.

After that the author writes a few sentences in the Çadejan language. The sentences indicate an elementary understanding of the language and we can see some spelling errors in the text, the error being in the word 'promise', which is spelled 'promice'. Another interesting thing to note is the mention of a city named Gaxe which is the Çadejan pronunciation of the city of K’aqe. This might indicate that the acquaintance mentioned is the one teaching the author the Çadejan language, although there is no evidence that both of these acquaintances or friends are one person and not two different individuals.

Later we can see the author refer to the Çadejan language as Shat’ec’an which is the Middle Noanfo way of referring to the language. The author then notes that it is time to sleep by referring to a popular children's tale of 'Lien going over Ic’aen'. Lien being the name of the Lower moon and Ic’aen being that of the Middle moon. As the story goes when Lien crosses over Ic’aen that indicates the day has begun for the Nightwalkers, or beings who are awake in the Night and asleep during the Day. The term nightwalker does not possess any form of indication towards the nature of said beings, but as the tale goes in order to keep the harmony of the world, the Daywalkers must sleep after Lien crosses over Ic’aen. This story is popular amongst the practitioners of the Centeqe religion. The author ends the note with indication of visiting Qwic’en. Qwic’en is the godess of dreams and the phrase '(going to) visit Qeic’en' is similar to saying 'have a good night' or 'I am off to bed'.
