1- Spanish and a Hurt Day

{Past, High School Years}

Dameon sat on the school bleachers, waiting for his practice to start. He was tired, bored, and just worn out in general. Hope wasn't with him, which made it worse, or better. It depended on what you thought of Hope.

Dameon loved her, like a sister. He may be bisexual, but he leaned more towards males. (Edit: Found out this means Omniesexual so now he's Omni going forwards) He was already dating Lilac anyways.

The cocker spaniel laid back, feeling a headache stirring. Why was this school so loud?

"Hey, you okay?" Dameon looked up to see Cae crouched down beside his head.

Dameon nodded, "Headache."

"Makes sense," Cae looked away.

They sat in silence for a while, sitting on the bleachers. Dameon didn't notice that Orca had snuck up under him, poking at his foot. His prosthetic, to be exact, so he couldn't feel it that much.

Dameon let his prosthetic fall back on top of Orca's head.

"¡Mierda!" Orca shouted, clutching his head.

Dameon started laughing, "WHAT?!"

Cae chuckled softly, "It's the f-bomb in Spanish, Dameon."

"Since when could you speak Spanish?" Dameon tilted his head.

Cae shrugged, "Forever?"

"Okay, I guess," Dameon shrugged, lifting his leg up.

Orca was still clutching his head with one hand, but he was glaring at Dameon with a decent ferocity. Cae glared right back at Orca with the same furious look. Dameon didn't mind; he knew this was normal for them.

Lilac came up the bleacher steps, setting their stuff down before laying on Dameon's lap.

"Lovebirds," Cae muttered, feeling clingy all of a sudden.

Dameon shrugged, "You just miss your little girlfriend."

"Shut up." Cae shot a glare at him. "Estúpido perro callejero."

"What?" Dameon turned around and raised his eyebrow.

Orca chuckled, "Wow, didn't expect that from you."

"Shush," Cae kicked him gently.

"¡No me patees!" Orca hissed at Cae, sticking his tongue out.

Cae stuck her tongue out, "Cierra la boca."

Dameon looked from side to side, "Huh?"

"Don't ask," Cae and Orca responded at the same time.

Dameon shrugged, "Okay."

KJ was sitting at one of his favorite shady spots, under a giant oak tree. He was reading a new book he had found in the library. It was blazing out and KJ had already taken off his beanie and his hoodie.

"Whatcha doin'?" Cae came and sat down beside the small avian.

Kelijah shrugged, "Just reading 'Rise of the Neri', a new book I got from the library."

Cae nodded, "Sounds interesting."

KJ shrugged, returning his attention to his book. Cae pulled out her sketchbook and began to doodle on one of the pages. They sat in silence for a while.

"¡Mierda!" Cae suddenly shouted, making KJ jump.

KJ looked over at her, trying to see what had happened to make such a sudden outburst to happen. KJ looked down at the soccer ball beside her. Cae was rubbing her forehead, which was where she was hit.

"You okay?" KJ put a gentle hand on her shoulder.

Cae nodded, still holding her forehead. It seemed to have burned a bit of her skin, and even ripped a bit of it.

"Doesn't look too bad," KJ murmured softly, rubbing Cae's forehead as she allowed him to look at it.

Cae nodded, "That's good."

KJ looked over at the people who were playing with the soccer ball, trying to figure out who it was. Everyone was busy, so he couldn't see anyone.

The people probably just left it there so they didn't have to deal with it. KJ shrugged and let it go.

"Do you need to go to the nurse?" KJ gently rubbed Cae's shoulder.

Cae shook her head, "I'll be fine."

KJ nodded again. The avian's ears twitched as he heard someone coming towards them. He looked up to see Orca digging his hooves in the ground. He's mad for sure.

It was not a joke when ORCA out of all people got upset. He was one of the more calm ones, more laid back.

KJ backed up slightly as Orca sat down. Despite him looking absolutely mesmerizing like that, he was still very intimidating.

KJ blushed as he noticed the tight tank-top Orca was wearing, showing his figure off. It didn't help that it was tucked into his belt. Orca always wore his belt super tight.

Orca was not the type of person to go up and randomly punch someone, he only did it when he was upset. He would randomly punch the wall, but that was an inanimate object.

KJ liked to think that if ghosts were real, they were always scared of Orca. Terrified even. He almost snorted out loud at the idea.

Kelijah put a gentle hand on Cae's shoulder, rubbing it softly.

(The group helps in the office, basically an office aid.)

Lilac was walking through the halls faster than usual. They were trying to get to the office before their shift started, which was hard to do when their class was halfway across the school.. They were always given a pass when they were late.

KJ had told them about what happened outside. Cae had been sent to the nurse by Bubs. Lilac groaned as the bell rang, they were just outside of the office! Lilac slugged themselves inside and waved lazily to the registration crew.

Lilac looked around, hoping to catch a glimpse of Cae so they had a reason to stop and check on her.

Turns out today was a bit of their lucky day. Cae was sitting with an ice pack on her head and a bandage underneath it.

Typical school nurses... Lilac rolled their eyes.

The feline made their way over to the unicorn, tapping on her shoulder gently. Cae looked up at them, whispering a soft 'hello, Lilac,' before turning her eyes back down.

"You okay? I heard about what happened outside..." Lilac nudged her gently.

Cae nodded, "It barely hurts at all, now.."

Lilac nodded, "I need to get going to do my office aid jobs."

"Okay, I'll see you at home," Cae casted her eyes downwards.

Orca walked through the halls quickly, trying to get to the office as stealthily as he could. He really didn't want to be questioned by someone who didn't know him and wouldn't believe him. He was supposed to be at the office ten minutes ago!

Orca cursed silently in Spanish under his breath, seeing the office come into view. He stepped inside and there was the counselor standing there.

"Late, reason?" Not one of many words but definitely doesn't beat around the bush, that was Mr. Reo for you.

"I was helping Mrs. Deian, with organizing after the class left a giant mess, and I lost track of time," Orca explained with his head down, his ears flat against his head.

Mr. Reo nodded, motioning for Orca to follow him.

"You were here earlier," It was more of a statement than a question.

Orca nodded, "Yes, I got Cae to go into the nurses office after she was injured outside."

"Injury?" Mr. Reo raised his eyebrow, having a questioning look on his face.

"Someone kicked a soccer ball at her head," Orca explained quietly. "I'm unsure if it was accidental or not."

Mr. Reo hummed, "Go check her."

Orca nodded, departing from Mr. Reo's side. He walked down the small halls that connected the different rooms of the office, looking for Cae. He knew that he had told her to stay in the Nurse's Office, but then again, he also knew she was never gonna do that. She need to move around at least a bit.

Orca eventually found her sitting in one of the small office chairs they have as waiting chairs. The elephant sat on his ankles in front of her, nudging her knee.

"Ya feelin' better?" Orca gently asked as Cae uncurled herself slightly.

She nodded, pressing her head back into her knees where her ice-pack was resting. Orca rubbed her knee gently.

"Would you like me to leave?" Orca watched as she shook her head, reaching out a hand.

Orca took her hand softly, adjusting his position so he was more comfortable. He knew he might be sitting here for a second. Cae was always kinda clingy when she was hurt.

"Did they find out who did it?" Cae asked softly, giving Orca's hand a light squeeze.

Orca shook his head, "No, not yet."

The elephant casted his eyes to the side, finding Paige standing there staring at them.

She mouthed a quick, 'WTF' and let her mouth gape open.

Orca mouthed back 'Don't ask, later.'

Paige nodded and turned to leave, continuing her route that she was doing for office mail. Orca breathed a quick sigh of relief. Good thing that was only Paige..

(I will not name all the counselors, as they don't really impact the story that much.)

Bella sat inside one of the counselor's offices, not Mr. Reo's, but a different one. She couldn't remember their name for the life of her. Well, she remembered it, she just couldn't pronounce it or write it.

Lilac was laying beside her, curled up in a ball like how cats usually are. It didn't surprise Bella. She reached over and gently scratched them behind one of their ears. The ear flicked, and they purred softly, but other than that she got no reaction.

Bella smiled softly, patting their head before retracting her hand.

The bear hybrid turned to the door as it opened, revealing Paige. She was standing there in the doorway, looking at Bella with her eyebrows knitted.

"What?" Bella tilted her head.

"Did you see what happened with Cae?"

"No? What happened to my girlfriend?"

"I'm not sure, but I think she's hurt."

"I'm killing someone-"

"NO!"

Lilac shot up at the shout, obviously still half asleep and confused. Paige whispered a soft 'sorry.'

"Wha..?" Lilac rubbed their eyes.

Paige sighed, "Sorry talking about Cae."

Bella still was staring at the desk furiously, trying not to glare at either of the other two. She didn't want them to think she was upset at them.

"What about Cae?" Lilac's tail flicked.

Paige raised an eyebrow, "She looked like she was hurt-"

"Oh yeah, she is," Lilac replied casually, not processing that these two probably don't know what happened.

"WHAT?" Bella and Paige yelled at the same time.

Lilac jumped upwards, shooting onto the rolling chair in the office and spinning before coming to a complete stop.

"Um..." Lilac let their head droop. "Did you two not know about that?"

"No?!" Bella hissed.

"Basically someone kicked a soccer ball at Cae's head and it ripped a bit of skin," Lilac motioned around their forehead, "about around here."

Bella opened her mouth and closed it before talking, "Who else knows?"

"Orca and KJ," Lilac shrugged. "I'm not sure who else KJ told, but it definitely wasn't you two."

"Probably Hope," Bella commented.

"He's fairly good at keeping things like this secrets though," Paige countered.

"Fair," Bella shrugged. "How did he know?"

"He was sitting right beside Cae when it happened," Lilac hummed. "It was by the weird oak."

"That makes a lot of sense, I suppose," Bella nodded, watching Paige leave the room.
