Chapter 1

Beau sat in the garden on a towel looking outside the gates of the castle.

It was a beautiful Sunday evening but he didn't feel like going outside the castle gates.

The upcoming week he would be going to St Jude Academy one of the most prestigious schools in the kingdom.

His father had been opposed initially to the transfer but after talking with Queen Marie and a few of the royal consultants he was persuaded to let Beau attend.

"Beau, the King has requested your presence in the living room " the gardener yelled out.

Beau runs inside to see his dad the King talking to someone and he gasps.

King Alan turned around and said " Beau, we have a visitor to see you. I am sure you've met before ."

"Unfortunately we have met. " Prince Beau responded

"Wow, Prince Beau. That is sad to hear as I thought we had a good chat. Was it something I said ?"  Drew said

Prince Beau storms out of the living room to his bedroom.

King Alan said to his visitor "I must apologize. He's not been himself lately."

Drew smiled wryly as he looked at the Prince.

"I understand Sire. I just wanted to give him a birthday gift." Drew said sighing as he looked upstairs toward Beau's room

Meanwhile, in his room, Beau was writing in his diary about a secret he had been keeping.

The King and Queen were quite strict and they often butted heads with their children Chloe, Sofie, Xavier, and Beau, especially Beau who had a fondness for bad boys or boys who were considered to be disruptive in their behavior at school.

His brown eyes, long hair, and rather volatile charm meant that he was constantly being linked with all kinds of suitors by the press.

Beau was awoken from his daydream by a loud knock on the door.

He opened it and it was Queen Marie, his mom informing Beau of the fact that a visitor had come to see him.

"Beau, Drew has left a gift for you for your birthday. Please come down and thank him for it. The sulking is not it, very ungentlemanly ." Queen Marie berated Beau who scowled

"Mom can't you just give it to one of the workers so that they can give their kid or something?" Beau remarked

"Prince Beau, I wasn't asking you a question. Get yourself downstairs this instant."  Queen Marie responded

Prince Beau frowned then headed down and thanked Drew.

Drew looked at the clock on the wall and then bid the family adieu.

He got the feeling that he had overstayed his welcome.

Drew went out, hopped on his horse, and rode off.

Eventually, Sofie, Xavier, and Chloe came and wished their brother a happy birthday.

He thanked them as he graciously accepted their gifts.

Hours later the children headed off to St Jude.

Any hope Prince Beau had of avoiding Drew was dashed when he spotted him in the hallway.

Prince Beau sighed as he walked past Drew and his friends Thomas and Rafael.

"Wow, he's beautiful," Drew said to his friend.

"Oh boy, here we go again. The Prince has shown you nothing but disdain. You're being delusional." Rafael said

"I know but the ball is in a few months. Trust me I'll change his mind" Drew responded with full confidence.

"This should be interesting considering the kind of guys the Prince is reportedly into. I've heard whispers." Thomas says, doing his best to make sure no one was overhearing

When the three friends entered the classroom, they weren't prepared for the scene in front of them.

Not only was the teacher not there yet, Prince Beau was seated in the lap of the captain of the soccer team and they were kissing passionately not to mention Victor was whispering sweet nothings in the Prince's ear.

They had been dating secretly for about a month because the Prince's parents didn't approve of Victor, particularly given his past behavior at balls.

Eventually, the teacher Ms Jones came and immediately scolded Beau who got up out of Victor's lap and went to his seat after adjusting his uniform.

Victor tried his best to focus on the lesson but often found himself stealing glances at the prince who smiled wryly.

11 am

The bell rang and it was time for lunch.

Beau and Victor had a place that they went to where no one could find them.

Victor stood at the door waiting for Beau as Beau bid adieu to almost everyone.

"I thought you'd never come. " Victor said as he kissed Beau.

They then headed out to sit under the poinsettia tree in the schoolyard.

Beau was taken aback when he noticed the cigarette in Victor's mouth as he lay down the blanket for them to sit.

Victor noticed and said " I don't smoke a lot. I do it sometimes to relax ."

Beau shrugged as he sat down to eat his lunch and as Victor sat beside him, he could feel himself physically recoil as Victor tried to come closer to him.

Eventually, Victor threw the cigarette away and began eating with Beau.

"When are you gonna let me deflower you? " Victor asked casually as he ate his cheese sandwich

Beau gasped and looked around to ensure that no one was eavesdropping.

"What an absurd question to ask. You are aware of how my parents are. " Beau responded, causing Victor to frown

"I want to meet them. " Victor announced as Beau ate his chicken and rice

"My dad's a hard nut to crack when it comes to having visitors over that aren't that Drew fellow." the prince responded as he adjusted his school jacket.

"Oh, I see. " Victor said with a tinge of sadness in his voice

"Don't be sad. The ball is in a few weeks and I have a feeling that between now and then we'll change their minds ." Beau says smiling

"Beau, you're right. The ball that's how ." Victor says as he kisses the prince
