I love how Nicole is so Anxious, and how cool Eve is. I definitely recommend reading this book, as it has a hold on me it’ll have a hold on you."
A captivating enemies-lovers-romance that checks all my boxes
"First off, this story checks a lot of the boxes I like. Enemies to lovers? Mafia romance? Sassy main character? Check, check, and check! Eve, our main character is a force to be reckoned with and Andreas matches her wit for wit. The dialogue is punchy yet flows easily through the chapters. In general, the pacing of this story is one of its strengths. However, there are some moments where the exposition feels a bit forced. The background information could be integrated a little more smoothly, but it doesn’t affect the overall enjoyment of the story so far. From early on a clear line is drawn in the sand placing both MCs on opposing sides. This makes for a delicious conflict that promises to have you hooked. Keep updating Lorraine. I can’t wait to know what happens next!"

"The way this book is written is fantastic where you get dragged in right away. There is no sentences in this book where I was confused. Not at all! This is a comfy read and I really like the pace of the story. You will never get bored! And the characters is interesting too, where none of them is perfect, and thats why I love them! "I was pulled into a world of crazy tension in this story. The story between the characters is one filled with suspense and danger. I was on my toes as I read this. The writers style is very agreeable with me; carrying the reader along. Great lead characters. And the multiple character plot is intriguing. Can't wait to know what happens next 😊"
She walks in Silence like the Night …
"What is it about the exotic Eve that captures everyone’s attention the moment she arrives at her college? Is it her alluring beauty? The way her long, flat, black hair contrasts with her fair skin? Is it the way she keeps to herself, her confidence radiating even as she refuses to say one word? Nicole isn’t quite sure why she and so many others finds Eve so captivating. Only that she is determined to become the new girl’s best friend. With Eve, Nicole feels there is strength and protection. Something she desperately craves for her own life. Behind Eve’s cold exterior is a woman who has endured much suffering in her young life, working as a ‘mule’ for a drug cartel at the age of twelve. If Eve appears indifferent on the outside, it is only because she has learned the pain of caring for others could bring her. Including the good-looking and persistent Andreas. Attractive women means little to Andreas. He has bedded many of them. But Eve presents a challenge that in equal parts frightens and excites him. Eve wishes she could persuade Andreas to stop pursuing her for romance …if only to save him from her cold, uncaring heart. I love these type of romance stories, enemies that become lovers and author Lorraine does an excellent job at encouraging us to care for a character who is on the surface rather distant. Andreas definitely has his work cut out for him if he’s going to try to seduce Eve. Can’t wait to find out if he is successful, and if Eve is capable of falling in love despite her horrendous experiences "

"The story follows the tale of a girl who escaped the foster system, but clearly has her own demons. There are dark forces around her even as she tries to leave her fate behind, and the story follows her journey forward. It's quite a promising start."

I really liked the plot, because it seeems that the characters are intertwined with each other by something more that meets the eye. Keep up the good work. "

"I haven't read a story about the female character where she holds a lot of suspense. I like that I don't know really much about eve and her background and it wants you to read more. I hope the story keeps the suspense and doesn't give off right away. Really want to know more about Andreas and what his story is. I enjoy it so far! "
I have high hopes for where this will go! (11 chapters read)
"Eve is a part of a world she wishes to escape, Andreas is the heir to a kingpin of that very world. I am yet to discover what it leads to and how it affects them but I am looking forward to it. The interactions between the two characters are interesting and the potential conflict has been established early on. I enjoyed the author's writing style and the fact both MCs are very well-defined. The only thing I'd say is both MCs sound much older than the ages they represent and as a result, the OCs seem frivolous and even superfluous. The scenes where the Mcs are not interacting or thinking seem like filler. But that's a compliment. Eve and Andreas, separately and together are the stars of the story and they shine."

"The story revolves around Eve and Andreas. One trying to get away from the underbelly of drug traffic and the latter, a part of the family, forming the underbelly itself. Right now it's wait and watch how these two characters catch up. I have enjoyed the author's writing style, very much. The characters are well defined. Overall, the characters and the plot has the effect of drawing in the reader. Well done to that. Keep writing more!"
