Chapter 1~ Suicidal

New Year...2024

It was new year and everyone busy packaging lots of surprise for friends and relatives.

More so some stalls are filled with jewelries and little kids all over.

But in the city somewhere no one would ever care to visit...in a building...no a mansion sat a woman at her early 20s with another woman besides her on the couch and they would seem to hold a full plate of popcorn as their eyes stared curiously at the big screen before them.

.....

One of them who was dressed in a casual wear...stood up to stretch out. Her long smooth dark brown hair tied up in a ponytail matching her bright brown eyes.

"Don't you think it's time for you to leave", she asked not turning to look at the woman behind her.

"Not really Isabelle, I'm willing to stay behind if you want", she replied as she stood up to stretch but she paused when she heard her friends reply,

"It's time you go spend time with your family Heeret...they must be worried sick already".

Heeret didn't give out a retort...she was tired of doing that, it was like she was used to this answer. Her bestie always being or trying to act distant.

She didn't want to say a thing or give a reply, she had her own problems but she was sure they weren't as much compared to that of her bestie.

"Okay Isa...talk to you later", Heeret replied and turned to leave.

Isabelle sighed to herself when Heeret was no longer in sight...this was the worst time of her life...New year. More less Christmas...

She didn't know much on her own life but she knew the day she was born and she believed it was a cursed memory.

It was on a new year that she was born and that day was today. Heeret her best friend didn't even know about it and she was least interested in letting her know.

"Miss Isabelle", she heard someone call her from behind making her snap out of her thoughts as she turned.

"What? Is it my dad?", Isabelle asked the butler.

"Yes Miss Isabelle...", he answered and walked away.

Isabelle rolled her eyes before walking behind the butler...she wouldn't call them her parents, they were her foster parents...who had taken her in from a little age. It wasn't as if they took care of her as their one and only child...they just made her life look more like a curse.

She paused when the large doors opened before her revealing someone she was never fond of...someone she couldn't even remember a memory with.

There stood a man at his early 30s not to far away from her...whoever took a glance towards him would see the authority and ambition within those fearless eyes. His hair neatly combed backwards and his clear black pupils glancing towards her position.

"If it isn't my one and only best assassin", his voice rang before her ears and she refused to reveal an emotion more less roll her eyes. 'For a man he was quite exaggerating',she thought. She was amongst the best assassin he had raised...she knew they were others but she was sure none of them were in this very mansion at least. This was her father "Rohan"...he wasn't an emperor or a king as rumors displayed but just a wealthy man full of authority at least that was what she knew. He owned the strongest gang company in "Mytheald" although that was what she also knew. Her father was never around except she was needed for a mission...one that his other trained assassin's couldn't carry.

Isabelle not replying his comment gave a slight bow and patiently awaited his reply.

Rohan gave out a chuckle before walking towards her...Isabelle heard the door open behind her and she turned...her face slightly lost it's color before it was replaced with an unfazed expression.

A woman who held an upright demeanor...one filled with pride walked towards Rohan and left a perk on his cheeks.

It was Leah...Rohan's one and only wife, she had never had a good thought towards Isabelle. Isabelle knew just how much the woman despised her and to what extent...ever since Rohan had decided to take her in...the memory was still green to her.

Isabelle had always had the skill buried deep within her...she had killed the head of the orphanage she resided in and it looked like Rohan must've figured everything out and used her to his own advantage.

When he took her in...he always showed keen interest in her skill and she could only guess how much it pained his wife "Leah".

"Have you told this b**** of her mission", Leah asked her husband as she eyed Isabelle angrily. Isabelle rolled her eyes...'talk about rude behavior', she murmured ignoring Leah knowing full well that Rohan also ignored her comments at times.

"Be patient Leah...I'm sure Isabelle knows her duties", Rohan answered.

"In two days, a man will visit...a threat to my business...I need you to survey his features clearly and I'll send you to his mansion too to also survey the place, you'll try every means to end his life, then I'll fulfill your wishes", Rohan explained watching her expression closely.

Isabelle looked surprised, she had only one wish and that was her real parents...she wanted to see them, hug them and ask why they had left her and that was going to finally come to pass. Suddenly determination flashed through her features and she eagerly nodded.

"That's my girl", Rohan patted her head and looking towards the butler he walked away.

When Rohan left Leah walked towards her..."don't you think you'll survive this mission", she threatened.

"Is there a reason why I shouldn't think", Isabelle asked with a frown.

Leah put up a knowing smile and chuckled, "There hasn't been a survivor amongst the other assassin's my husband sent".

Isabelle refused to waver at least she refused to believe that Rohan was trying to use her knowing full well that this mission was a suicidal one.

'He wouldn't just loose his best assassin right?', she asked herself in doubt.
