Mystery Man
Have you ever had a dream that was so good, and felt so real that you wanted to cry when you woke up?
I have. A few times actually. And lately there has been a gorgeous stranger who has been appearing in them. The first time he appeared in my dream I was only able to see half of his face through the crowd.
His black hair, and dark eyes surrounded by thick long lashes caught my attention. Like two magnets being pulled towards each other.
His thick brows pinched together, as I tried to push through the crowd to get closer to him. As someone passed by me; blocking my view with a bunch of balloons, he would vanish. I don't know why? But, the disappointment I felt when he was gone felt heavy on my chest.
By the third dream I was able to see him completely. Tall, with an olive complexion, his beard was a little thicker than a five o'clock shadow. His tight black shirt that fit like a glove, hid nothing of his muscular body; even under his gray pea coat. He was wearing black slacks, with a silver wallet chain attached to his belt loop.
Again, I walk to him. Pushing through the crowd of people. He doesn't make a move to leave. He would just stand there, watching me. When I'm closer than I have ever gotten I smile at him. Arching a brow he sends me a smirk. Only a few feet from him, I need to know, "Who are you?" Just as he seems like he'll speak, I'm forced awake.
To say I was frustrated would be a major understatement.
The fourth night was when everything changed.
I didn't just appear in a crowd. I look around and see that I am at a carnival. Children run around laughing, filled with excitement. I could hear people screaming as they rode the roller coaster. The scent of popcorn and cotton candy is thick in the air as I close my eyes and take a deep breath. I open my eyes, and bring my hand up to brush my hair out of my face to see tickets in my hand for the rides. I look around seeing different carnival games to play and food stands.
When I look to the spot where he usually stands, there's no one there. I release the breath I was holding, with a sigh. "Maybe this isn't one of those dreams." I say to myself.
Strolling past different stalls, I decide to check out the rides. I pass the swings, and the Gravitron; coming to a stop in front of the big ferris wheel.
As I watch it turn, seeing the smiles on the faces of those that fill its seats, like magic it comes alive with colorful lights. Looking up in awe at the brightly lit up wheel, I fail to notice the big pink cloud-like puff of cotton candy being held in front of me. That is until a deep masculine voice speaks close to my ear. "Cotton candy gorgeous?" His warm breath touches my skin and brings goose bumps in its wake.
I turn my head in the direction of the voice to see my mystery man. Our faces are so close to one another, I freeze for a moment before taking a step away to put some space between us. He waves the cotton candy a bit to get my attention before handing it to me. I look down to it and back up at him; craning my neck as I take it from his hand. "Are you going to disappear again?" I ask, making him laugh. He hangs his head looking down at the ground, hands in his pockets; before looking up at me through his thick long lashes.
"Sorry about that. No, I won't disappear again Princess." He extends his hand gesturing towards the line for the ferris wheel. I nod and walk towards the entrance. Making sure he doesn't vanish again, I look back at him a few times.
"How many?" The carnival worker asks.
"Two." My mystery man says handing the guy tickets. The worker removes the chain, allowing us to walk through. I climb in and Mystery man slides in next to me. When I turn to look at him, he's already watching me.
"Why did you keep coming back if you were only going to ghost me?" I ask furrowing my brows. He smirks, amused at my frustration.
"You weren't ready." I quirk a brow as I pull a piece of cotton candy from the stick.
"But I am now?" He nods, watching my mouth as I suck the leftover sugar from my fingertips. He parts his plump lips as his tongue comes out and slowly licks his bottom lip. I pull another piece off and bring it to his mouth. He opens his mouth for me to feed it to him. As I pull my hand away he grabs my wrist, bringing my fingers to his mouth sucking off the sugar just as I did. Normally a stranger sucking on my fingers would freak me out, but he's different. He doesn't feel like a stranger.
His tongue curling around my fingers just caused a flood in my panties. My breath hitched in my throat. I gulp looking from his lips to his eyes.
"Mmmmm, sweet." He smirks watching the effect he has on me. I pull my hand away and look away from him. Looking out over the crowd, the sunset in the distance catches my eyes. And I can't help but smile. "You have a beautiful smile Ava." He whispers in my ear. When I turn to look at him, his face is inches from mine. The sun reflecting in his eyes makes them sparkle. For a second I'm lost in them until it hits me.
"H-how do you know my name?" My brows furrow as I put some space between us. He brings his arm around my shoulder and moves closer.
"I know more than that about you princess. Like how cotton candy is your favorite sugary treat." He looks between me and the cotton candy. With wide eyes I look from him to the candy in my hand. I quickly push it into his hand.
"How do you know anything about me?" His hand around my shoulder pulls me closer. His nose brushes against mine.
"Because I've been with you your whole life, Princess. Since the day you were born." His lips touch mine as he speaks and I feel tingles where they touch. Looking into his eyes, I feel that pull to him again. "Can I kiss you?" He whispers. My breath caught in my throat makes it hard to speak.
"Yes." Comes out as a whisper. He smiles wide before pressing his plump lips on mine.
He tosses the cotton candy aside; grabbing my hips, he pulls me onto his lap. The tingles from our lips spread through my whole body. His hand on my neck tilts my head. His tongue brushes the seam of my lips asking for access. I part my lips and brush my tongues against his. He groans in my mouth, as he pulls me closer. The shift in my position places his hardness right under my wet core. Pushing me down, he grinds into me. It's enough to nearly push me over the edge. I can't stop the whimper that comes out. Surprising myself I pull away, but he holds my body in place. I'm a panting mess trying to wrap my head around what just happened. Ashamed of myself, my cheeks burn and I try to look away.
As if he can read my mind he cups the side of my face in his hand. His thumb brushes my cheek to soothe me, and I lean into his touch.
"You are mine, Princess. You've always been mine. You just didn't know it. There's no reason to be ashamed of how our bodies react to each other." I smile, relaxing my shoulders.
The sun finally sets, and the ride starts to move again. I look around confused. "Are you controlling this dream?" I ask looking back at my hand holding on to his coat lapel. His hand lifts my chin and my eyes go to his.
"Yes, Princess I am. I wanted everything to be perfect for you." His soft smile sets off the butterflies in my stomach again.
The ride comes to a stop and the worker lets us off. Mystery man stands facing me, blocking my exit. His hands grip me under my arms to lift me up and place me down on my feet. Craning my neck, I smile wide as he takes my hand in his. Intertwining our fingers as we walk, letting me know he has no intentions of letting it go.
As we continue our walk I crane my neck to look up at his face. Where did this man come from? Why can't he be real? When he looks down he smiles, but it doesn't reach his eyes. I stop my steps tugging his hand before letting it go. When he stops I step in front of him and hold on to his lapel again. I search his eyes trying to figure out what caused his mood to shift.
"What's wrong?" He looks down, placing his hands on my hips to pull me closer. He sighs, resting his forehead on mine.
"It's almost time." My brows Furrow, not understanding.
"Time for what?"
"For you to wake up." I look down at his chest filled with disappointment.
"Oh. Will I see you again?" I look back up and his eyes start to soften, and this time his smile does reach his eyes.
"Why? Do you want to?" I nod my head blushing. "Then you will, Princess." He says tilting his head, as he looks down his nose at me. I smirk with my next question.
"Will you talk to me again or are you gonna ghost me like the last few times?" I sass.
"You better watch that attitude before I spank that thick toosh." My jaw drops and eyes widen. He laughs, throwing his head back. "Yes, Ava. I'll talk to you again." He bends down to bring his face closer to mine again. "Kiss me goodbye?" Looking in his eyes I nod my head. He smiles wide and then presses a sweet kiss to my lips. I can feel the back of my eyes start to burn. When he pulls away, I can see his eyes are glassy too. He gives me a sad smile as he cups my face in both of his large hands. "See you soon Princess." His deep voice cracks. Desperately, trying to hold on to him I feel a tear that I had been trying to hold back roll down my cheek. I blink and it's all gone, the light fading to black.
As my eyes open to see the sunlight shine through my window I feel something wet on my cheek. Placing my hand on my cheek I feel the tear I thought only existed in my dream.
If my tear was real, does it mean he is too?
