Disgusted for life (in a good way)
"I’m going to start by saying this: I hated every second of this book — and that’s how I know it’s brilliant. “Stitches” is pure, unfiltered body horror — the kind that crawls under your skin, takes a nap in your ribcage, and wakes up screaming. The author doesn’t show horror; they make you feel it. I have a vivid imagination, and the imagery here? Too vivid. I could smell it. Touch it. I wanted to bleach my own brain. The “Cerberus deer” scene? Yeah. Thanks for that. I dreamt about it. I don’t even like venison anymore. And yet — I couldn’t stop reading. The writing is sharp, descriptive, and cinematic. The setting is deliciously classic horror: a sleepy small town, a dead diner, no Wi-Fi, no landlines, and a sense that something awful is breathing just behind you. The pacing is on point — every chapter drags you deeper into dread until you realize you’re holding your breath. The characters are so well written it’s unfair. Travis, the exhausted mortician — his perspective adds this morbid realism that made every corpse, every monstrous detail feel too possible. (As a biologist, I can confirm: disturbingly accurate.) Kendra’s intelligence and resourcefulness make her instantly relatable — she’s confused, terrified, but sharp as hell. And Tiff... chaotic, funny, slightly unhinged Tiff — she’s the weird little spark of human absurdity that every apocalypse needs. I don’t even like body horror. It grosses me out. But this story was so skillfully crafted that I read through my own disgust just to see how far it would go. Spoiler-free: it went far. Way farther than I was ready for. If you like your horror raw, imaginative, and disgustingly immersive, read this. If you don’t like body horror — read it anyway, then join me in therapy. I’m both terrified and excited for Part II... but I’ll need a few nights without nightmares first."
A Master Class in Storytelling
"Right from the first chapter, this had me hooked. I really enjoyed the character development and the unique unveiling of the plot. The authors use of the written word is something I strongly encourage everyone to experience for themselves. At certain points I was floored by the way it was worded. Pure poetry and perfection all in one. Another impressive aspect of the story was how the author was able to maintain the suspense and hold my attention by always giving their character obstacles and challenges to overcome. This is what had me hooked and eager to read on to the next chapter until before I knew it, it was over. Too soon. Glad to hear there's a Part II coming out later this year. The most impressive thing to learn was that this was written on such short time constraints for a contest that this took first place in. Congratulations! Just imagine what would emerge from this extremely talented and naturally gifted authors fingertips if given the proper 'spacing'. I highly recommend this book. Once you start you wont be able to stop."
Peak body horror (have beta read and read on Wattpad)
"See, Evil, he absolutely blew it out of the park. Top tier writing, loved the characters' personalities and how they worked together to survive the monsters. And speaking of which, the monsters? Goosebump inducing. And that's coming from someone who should've seen worse in the body horror department. Thus, if you like well-written (understatement of the century) body horror stories that cause them shuddering goosebumps, Stitches would be an 11/10. At least. Also, can't wait for part 2!"

"Evil threw down with this one! I loved this little story. The characters were relatable and funny, the plot was well thought out and executed with amazing skill. When going into this I wasn't fully sure what to expect but Stitches was a wonderful ride into the unknown! I loved the concept of four individuals brought together by misfortune trying to circumvent a mini-apocalypse, solve a creepy mystery, and take a glimpse into a sincerely unique and disturbing rise of evil forces! It is a great small-town horror story, the writing was pristine, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great ride into something new! Can't wait for Part Two!"
