Chapter 1

(This is my first story just so everyone knows, it won’t be the best. In this story the dogs will be in the form of humans. I hope you all enjoy it. None of these pictures are mine, thank you and awesome job to whoever made them.)

CHAPTER ONE

"The name is Chase Winter. I am the second in command of the rescue squad called the PawPatrol, and I have an insane winch on my vehicle. You might be wondering about my past life, or you might not be. You’re probably not, but I will tell you anyway. When I was a little puppy, me and my three siblings were taken hostage by this under cover group of people. They started to train us to fight the aliens that had invaded.

They put me and my siblings in a squad together on the front lines with an army following. It was the biggest battle in humankind, it left a lot of cities in ruin. We lost a lot of good squads that day, but towards the end we seemed to be prevailing. When suddenly dozens of drop pods started to fall from the sky, filled with reinforcements for the alien army. It turns out that the alien leader himself came down to stop the nonsense that he saw. We were greatly outnumbered, and without a general, because he ran away. I lost my two sisters and brother that day. Filled with rage I scoured the battlefield for the alien leader, and when I found him, I was ready to tear him apart. Him and I were locked in a battle against each other, and I had my paws on him, but th-”

“CHASE!” I realize that Marshell, the dalmatian, my best friend is screaming in my ear.

“What?”

“I said, are you ready to do this?” he gestures down the mountain. I look down the steep mountain, the beaming sun making the snow glisten and drip from the branches of the trees. It takes me a moment before I remember that we were all going snowboarding together. “Oh right, yeah I’m ready.” I reply.

“Iiii don’t really know about this guys, Rubble, the English Bulldog, youngest of us all, and construction guy of our group pipes up, maybe we should stay on the easy runs?”

“Nah bro, Zuma, the chocolate Lab, and water rescue dog immediately says, don’t be a squirrel man, just full send it!”

“Ugh, fine, but if I die it’s your fault Zuma.”

“Then my mission will finally be completed,”

“What?” Rubble gasps.

“What?” Zuma replies innocently.

“You just have to be skilled and brave like Chase, Rubble!” Everest, the Husky, snow rescue dog, smiles at me and I put my paw over my face, embarrassed. “Just bulldoze if you have to,” Rocky, the mixed breed and recycling/engineer dog pats Rubble on the back. “Just don’t fall, it’s that simple,” finally Skye, the cute, I mean, the Cockapoo aviator dog. In my opinion she is the best at doing her designated job. At that we turn our boards down the mountain and start heading down. I take my usual route down, the park. I notice that Marshell, Skye, and Rubble follow me. I head for my favorite jump, and when I lift off the ground to do a flip, I get hit by a flashback of my training. I stop halfway in the air and land awkwardly on my shoulder. “Chase! oh my gosh are you alright!” I hear Skye yell. The other three gather around me, they are all talking but I can’t hear what they’re saying. My ears are ringing with the sound of explosions, and my shoulder is burning. Eventually I regain my sense of hearing to Rocky grabbing my good shoulder. “Chase say something!”

“Something,” I pant. They ask a few more questions before we finally start again. These flashbacks have been happening a lot to me recently, it’s really annoying.

After a couple of hours of shredding mountains, we head into Jake and Everest’s cabin. “Aha welcome Paw Patrol, how did it go?” Jake asks.

“It was all good, though Chase fell” Marshell reports.

“It was a small tumble” I tell Ryder who is looking concerned.

“A small tumble? Skye laughs, you flew like I don’t know twenty-seven feet, and then landed straight on your shoulder!”

“Well, I didn’t say that it didn’t hurt” I rub my shoulder. Now everyone is staring at my shoulder, and it is very uncomfortable. “Just shake it off man,” Zuma plops down by me and punches my bad shoulder. “OW argh, dude!” I growl,

“What was that for?” Everest asks.

“Well, I thought that he was making it a bigger deal then it was,” Zuma shrugs. We all share a laugh together and continue hanging out. After a couple of hours, Ryder eventually says that we need to leave. We say our goodbyes to Jake and Everest, and then head back to the lookout. While sitting there looking out at the star filled sky, I think to myself. “Another good normal day.”

CHAPTER ONE PT

I open my eyes and find myself on the battlefield. I gasp in surprise, and duck to dodge a plasma charge. I nervously look around, trying to figure out what to do. Suddenly I spot my older sister in the grasp of the alien leader. “No...” I breathe. I start to rush to her, but then the alien leader lifts her up, and then drives a knife into her.

“No!” I jolt awake and bang my head on the wall. “Ow, stupid wall.” I slowly sit up, rubbing my head and look at the dent in my wall from all the times I’ve hit my head. It’s 5:32 AM, I yawn and then head outside. I head for the cliff that we live near, overlooking the ocean, the crisp, chilly morning air makes me feel more awake. I sit near the cliff, not right on the edge because of rules, and look out across the sea. I notice Captain Turbot out fishing on his really reliable vessel. I hear a snap behind me, and I whirl around fists ready. “Chase! geez it’s just me” Rocky holds his paws up. I relax a little and sit back down. “Sorry man, I’m just jumpy, I guess.

“I can tell.”

“Oh.”

“You doing alright?” he asks me. I consider telling Rocky about all of my flashbacks, but I don’t want to look like a freak. “Yeah. yeah, it’s all good.”

“Okay, well-” Rocky begins, but gets interrupted by Ryder.

“Paw Patrol to the lookout!” This is my favorite time to do missions, just because I love to see everyone rush to the lookout while half asleep. Rocky and I nod to each other, and then jog to the elevator. We both get there first, and then watch with laughter as the others come. “What? what’s so funny?” Zuma demands. We all line up in our designated spot, thankfully Marshell has a little more control over his body to not run into everyone in the elevator.

The elevator goes up, like a normal one, and then we all walk out and line up in front of Ryder. “Thanks for hustling guys, he begins. There was a call about car theft in the area, we don’t have a lot of information, but we know that it’s a blue car with one bumper sticker. So, for this mission, I will need, Chase. I need you to track down this thief and try to help stop it.”

“Chase is on the case,” I stand straight.

“I will also need, Skye, Ryder continues. I need you to scout out from the air, and aid Chase and me if needed.”

“Let’s take to the sky!” she barks and then does her awesome little backflip.

“The rest of you stay ready in case we need assistance” Ryder finishes. I run for the fireman’s pole that we added for the team instead of the slide, thankfully, and I drop down to my car, Skye following. My little house turns into a car, don’t ask where all of my stuff goes, I am still trying to figure that out myself. Then we start following Ryder to wherever our mission is. “Alright team, Ryder starts, we all have earpieces for easy communication because we will be splitting up.”

“Yes sir,” Skye and I answer.

“Jinx” she giggles. We split up there, ready for the search. There is silence for a while before Skye breaks that. “I see the car, she reports, it’s on Jag and Fish intersection.

“Copy that Skye, we’re on our way” I say and then switch my siren on. I take a left, and then suddenly the car we’re searching for slams into my car. I get launched into the front of my car because we don’t have airbags for some reason. My vision blurry, I catch the thief screeching down the road. I slam on the gas and start the pursuit, “Ryder! I shout, I’ve got eyes on the thief!”

“Alright Chase, stay on him but be careful, we don’t know what might happen.

”I’ve got you in my sights Chase” Skye informs me, I glance up and see her copter above me. The thief hits a hard right, and I follow effortlessly. “You’re gonna have to do much better than that to shake me man.” I murmur to myself. Suddenly random stuff starts flying out of the car. I see someone’s head out of the car throwing stuff at my vehicle. “Team, I start, there are two of them, I repeat, there’s two of them, we’re going to need backup.”

“Alright Chase, stay safe” Ryder says. I weave and turn around the objects, barely missing some. I hear a roar of an engine, and I spot Ryder zooming for the car. “Coming for a flank Chase” Ryder report. “By the way they are navigating they are trying to leave town down the backroads” Skye recognizes.

“Good Skye now let’s get them” I shout. Ryder ends up being a split second to short, and the thieves go by unharmed. “Dang it!” Ryder yells. Suddenly a gunfire goes off, and Ryder’s ATV wheels get shot. I duck in my car, shocked about the use of guns. The crowd of people around run around screaming for cover. “Where those gun shots!” Skye shouts into the comms.

“Yes, they were, Ryder tells Skye, Chase, don’t go after them, this is a job for the special teams.”

“I’m right behind them though!” I yell.

“Abo-” Ryder begins, but I cut him off, yes, I know that I will probably get suspended. The passenger sticks his head out of the window and begins to shoot at me. I stay low in my seat, but high enough to see the road. I begin to catch up to them, preparing for the PIT maneuver. They notice that I am about to do something to them, so they slam the breaks, and I go crashing into them. I get flung out of my car regretting telling myself that I don’t have time for a seatbelt and onto their car. “You’re messing with the wrong people mutt!”

“I am? I hold my arms up in the air, my bad guys, I should just leave you alone then huh? because I don’t wanna mess with the wrong guys!”

“Are you taunting us?!” the driver snaps.

“No of course not, but you should probably keep your eyes on the road buddy” I point at the road. “Bro just shut up man!” the dude with a gun yells and shoots me again. I dodge to the side, barely managing not falling off. I am barely holding onto the back of the car, my legs skipping across the road. I hoist myself up and tread quietly on top of the car hood. I attach my grapple to those things that are on top of the car and jump off the car. The wire swings me back towards the window. I grin with satisfaction when I get a straight up surprised expression from both of the thieves. I fly through the window and body slam the thief in the passenger seat and quickly knock him out “No! Edward!” the driver shouts. The driver puts his gun to my chest. “You’re gonna pay for that” the man growls. “Come on man, it’s just a knock on the head!” I exclaim and swat the gun away. I catch it while it’s falling and point it at the driver. “Now pull over, you’re under arrest for car theft, reckless driving, and attempted murder” I say proudly. I unload the two thieves out of the car and wait for backup. About two minutes later, Skye, Marshell, and Ryder, who is riding in Marshell’s firetruck pull up.

“Are you okay Chase?” Marshell frets.

“Yeah, I’m good.”

“Chase. Ryder starts, I am surprised and annoyed that you got them.” I look down at my paws, knowing that I went against orders. “I won’t suspend you, but if we are to be a well working team, we need to be ready to fallow orders, you got that?”

“Yes sir” I respond.

“Now, let’s take these people to the prison, shall we?” and at that, we gather the thieves and head our way.

A bit of spelling and grammar mistakes here and there, but otherwise fine. If only Marshell didn’t interrupt Chase’s thoughts 😒.

This is great so far and absolutely hilarious. I love the twist to my favorite childhood show. This brings me back to a couple years ago when I was absolutely howling in laughter every time I watched Marshall crash into them. So far great book🖤

Nice to know there is a PAW Patrol fandom on this platform other than myself. Looking forward to reading the rest.
