The Fate of Fae!

That her thoughts and opinions are worthless. As time goes she has learned to accept and wear the perception of her pack members, like a worn coat full of holes. That is until a special man arrives to Fae’s pack, a wolf named Rowan. Enigmatic and charming, he sweeps Fae right off of her feet. For once she feels like she maybe falling in love. But can this Rowan fellow be trusted? Even as she searches his dark eyes she senses a dangerous secret within him. Something so dark and terrible that Fae fears having her heart crushed will only be the beginning of the potential danger Rowan brings to herself and her pack. This is an unusual wolf tale and does not follow the typical standards of a love story. Author Cara Sheridan puts unusual depth in her descriptions of Fae, and it’s hard not to feel sorry for the poor girl. Fae may be wise to doubt Rowan. Most people can’t accept love until they learn how to live themselves and I’m not sure if Fae has done that yet. At the time of this writing I’m on Chapter Twelve, but I plan to continue on. Here’s hoping that Fae will accept her own self worth, and get away from the abusive habits of others. "
A worth reading book
"A very well illustrated historic book. A story of girl who faced turmoil, deception, mutiny and loosing her love ones. but still stood up and claimed her right place. It is highly recommended. "
Faes Solitude

Excellent angsty character study in seeking approval, a sense of belonging, and grappling with self doubts in a pack dynamic.
"Fae, as a character, elicits instant sympathy and is justified in feeling isolated and unwanted, but I didn't see much character development (until I read). By that, I do not mean she needed to become a sassy, lady/she-boss, not at all. But Fae is mired in self-doubts, and others' discouragement/ criticism affects her more than the encouragement she receives (eg from Taron). After a point, I really wanted to shake some sense into her. Rowan seems to break through her walls rather quickly, seems likable, but brings trouble to their pack. Fae falls for him rather quickly, but she remains wary, for good reason. The aura of mystery surrounding his past was interesting, but I haven't read far enough to reach the payout on that subplot yet. Ch 8 took me by surprise. They just met and she'd thinking along the lines of 'they would face what is to come together' which threw me. The highlight of the story: The writing is clean and crisp, and the descriptions are lovely. Cara is an excellent writer and it shows. My only feedback (rather, opinion) is I sometimes struggled with the pacing. Some seminal events are 'blink and you miss it', and other ideas/ thoughts are repeated and delved into great detail. Maybe I felt that way because I am of the school of thought that every chapter should offer the readers something new and drive the plot forward. A few slice-of-life, introspective characters here and there are great, but the hook, mystery, or conflict should ideally drive the narrative. Other than that, this is a well-written story, ideal for readers who enjoy werewolf stories that focus more on the emotional angst of the main character struggling to come to terms with themselves and their place in the world/pack. Ps. I will finish the story and update the review once I escape my editing hell. "
