Chapter 1: The Breakdown on the Line
The noise of the factory filled his ears and for Carlos it was the sweet melody which was cut short by the silence. Another line had stopped. Yet another batch of vehicles held back.
Carlos who had waken to organize the night session at the guild muttered under his breath, “Not again.” The issue was always the same: Having a deep understanding of one or more of the failure modes, such as cracking or, failing seals. Key rubber parts were degrading under the thermal/pressure load of the engines. Some of the problems that it was leading to, include productivity losses, potential compromise of the safety of vehicles on the road, as well as a compromise to the rate of production.
Carlos decided that they required a new supplier as the current ones offered only “out of the box thinking” solutions. He needed precision. It was then that another colleague pointed out that there is a better company Excel Rubber Industries.
