Ch1- The D Day
Sneha & Kashish have been bff since school. She is the one who witnessed the love blossoming between Anuj & Kashish, been there through their ups and downs and finally here she is to see them tie the knot and fulfill her bridesmaids duties.
Kashish was in her blouse and shorts. The lehenga was being steamed to perfection. She was almost done with her makeup, the hair stylist was working on his charm and Sneha helping her with jewellery.
Kashish has been a perfectionist since forever. She works on schedule, with a To-Do list. Since the day Anuj proposed to her for marriage, she had a pinterest board for the wedding.
Her father entered the room and stood behind her.
She spotted him in the mirror and smiled. He was teary eyed and tried to hide it.
"You are looking so beautiful. My little baby grew up so fast. " He said with partially choked voice.
"They have reached the mandap entrance. I am going for the welcome rituals. Mom will come and get you once Pandit ji calls for you." She nodded.
Her make-up was very minimalistic like the way she liked with a beautiful messy bun and the embroidered duppata tied over it having a long train.
She always imagined herself in bright red lehenga and not the pastel ones in trend. She wanted the bride feels.
After she wore the Lehenga and admired herself in the mirror. "I think I am ready Sneha."
Sneha chuckled. "You were always ready. Miss perfectionist." She side hugged her when there was a knock and her mom entered with a wide smile.
"How do I look Mom?"
"Beautiful as always. " She took some Kajal from her eyes and applied behind Kashish's ears. (Kajal is applied to avoid any bad omen)
Happy tears rolled down her eyes to see her princess in a wedding lehenga. She has dreamt of this day since she held her little baby for the first time.
"Mom.. Please don't cry. I will feel like crying too and makeup would get messed up." She pouted.
They all laughed.
"Okay let's go. Anuj is waiting for you."
----- Wedding Venue -----
Anuj was already on the Mandap following rituals and instructions given by Pandit ji, when people started murmuring and gasping. He heard his friends scream "Bhabhi bhabi" (Bhabhi is sister-in-law) .
He raised his eyes to the stairs to see his love of the life walking down the stairs, looking beautiful than ever. His smile widened.
Kashish smiled back seeing him in her favourite white sherwani looking all handsome, his wavy hair adding more to it. She sat beside him. They both kept looking at each other.
"I never imagined you could get more beautiful than you already were. I can't take my eyes off you. How lucky am I?" He whispered.
"Welll.. you got lucky.. You look good too."
"Just good? I am offended. Let me ask Panditji if i can exchange my bride."
She hit him playfully. They completed all rituals and then left for his home.
He lived in Mumbai in an apartment. His parents stay at Lucknow. His apartment was all lit up and decorated.
When they reached, Anuj's mother welcomed them with Pooja Thaali. More rituals were completed and it was almost 4 at night when they got back to their room. Super tired.
"I wanna sleeppp badly. " She yawned.
"Already tired?? We haven't even.. "
"Don't even think of it. I can't even move with this Lehenga and I am so tired."
"The Lehenga I can help.. " He said with an evil smirk.
"Not happening today Anuj. " She pushed him on the bed and changed into her night dress and freshed up.
Anuj was already asleep. She smiled looking at his face and how he was acting that he was not tired.
She bent down and kissed his forehead. "Good night husband." A strange feeling rushed through her when she said it. She couldn't believe they were finally married after 10 years of being together.
