Great first chapters!
"This is a WIP review! Will write a new one when the story is complete! John is hardened survivor hunkering down in a cabin in the woods and a frozen wasteland. Everything changes when he rescues a girl who survived the unthinkable. This was a great WIP with a gripping plot and vivid setting!"
The ice age is here!
"The ice age has finally visited Down Under. John has made it to a relatively safe place, rather than that’s survived the blizzard. The first two chapters are meaty and packed with a lot of interesting information about his quest to survive. I am looking forward to the updates to see where his quest takes him. The plot has potential and is well-established. The main character is likable and seems sensible even capable without coming across as a macho heroic muscleman. He’s nice and relatable so far. So all good on that front. Feedback: As this is a first draft, one self-edits, and polishing will make it shine. Once (not so long ago yet a lifetime ago) I studied in Australia, hence have very fond memories of my days there as a student. So, the setting was kind of familiar and nostalgic. Also, I have experienced the weather there. Maybe describing the before vs the current climate conditions might help readers. Ps. I wonder if the roos survived. Koalas, I doubt it, and what of the salt-water crocodiles? Sure the worse of the reptiles and insects are gone. Do weave their fate in :)"
