Chapter 1
SIYA
I keep my head on my arm as I stare at the guy sitting beside me. He is sitting with his head on his arm just like me and his eyes are closed. Wearing glasses with black frames.
He's a new student.
I sigh. He looks handsome. And from the build of him he probably goes to the gym. Wow.
I don't even realize that I'm staring at him when
"Are you done staring?"
His voice is gruff and I realise I've been caught.
Shit.
I quickly sit up straight. When he opens his eyes and looks up at me. I avoid his gaze.
He chuckles. The sound of it causes weird vibration through my body which I try to ignore.
"Sneaking glances, are we?"
He whispers in my ear.
My cheeks heat up at his accusation and I try to form words to defend myself even though I'm well aware that no amount of defending will help because I was actually staring at him.
"I-i was not staring. You were.. In my field of vision. That's it." I say looking anywhere but at him.
He chuckles again. Smartass.
"Of course I was"
He shakes his head sitting up straight as the professor enters and starts his lecture.
After the class ends, I see him packing his stuff quietly. He is always quiet and alone. And I feel bad for him. So I speak up
"Would you like to have lunch with me and my friends?"
He stops in his tracks and looks at me Skeptically raising his eyebrow.
"No thanks"
He says going back to what he was doing.
And I didn't ask him again.
But then I realized I never caught his name.
"Uh, what's your name?" I ask him curiously.
"Aarav Arora" He says quietly.
"Aarav Arora... " I taste his name on my tongue. "I am Siya Mehra" I say knowing I never introduced myself to him either.
"I know, sweetheart"
He smirks before getting up and leaving before I can utter a word.
How does he know me?
I then look down at my stuff before realizing he must've seen it in my book.
I shrug before picking up my belongings and walking out towards the cafeteria.
As I was passing by the library I caught a glimpse of Aarav sitting on the chair immersed in a book.
Typical.
He looks like he spends most of his time around books. Huh.
I shrug and continue walking to the cafeteria.
Bhai khane ke naam pe samosa aur patties bechte hai.
But you gotta eat what you get. Or I won't be able to function on an empty stomach.
As I walk into the bussing cafeteria, I quickly spot my friends. They are pretty loud so it's not hard to spot them in a room full of people.
"Hey guys" I say sitting beside Sharanya.
"What took you so long?" Anvi asks.
Sharanya looks at me for an answer too.
"You know there was this guy in my history class and he was hot. Totally my type." I tell them in a low voice making sharanya squeal.
"Sacchi? I also want to see him now! Is he new?"
She asks curiously making Avni roll her eyes.
"You guys need to stop drooling over men. They are trash" Avni says.
After being heartbroken by her jerk boyfriend Kabir. She thinks that "all men are trash".
And we're not about to go and tell her otherwise.
Because she is right. Somewhat. What? Men are trash. Except my father. He's the best.
"Shut up! Have you seen Shahrukh khan?" Sharanya counters.
"Yeah, and he's one of a kind" Avni rolls her eyes again before turning to me. "So did you talk to this new guy or just kept staring at his handsome face?"
I nod.
"I asked his name and I offered him to have lunch with us. Bichara akela sa laga. But he denied. His loss!"
I say flipping my hair.
"Exactly! You don't find a company like ours anywhere"
Sharanya joins me.
"You guys do realize that only we three can handle each other right?" Avni says with one eyebrow raised.
"Oh come on. I would've handled him"
I smirk.
"Of course you can"
They both say at the same time.
Whatever.
"Guys exams are coming. What have you thought about it?" Avni as she eats her samosa.
Mene to patties li hai.
"Sochna kya hai? Humko toh Siya devi padhayengi"
Sharanya says poking my shoulder.
"Sorry but I'm not going to teach you two. You guys are the dumbest people to ever exist in humanity"
I roll my eyes while sipping some water.
"You're rude"
Sharanya pouts.
"And you're our friend. What does that make you?"
Avni retorts.
"That makes me yours darling"
I smirk as I watch Avni choke on her drink.
"I swear to God Sia!"
She says with wide eyes as me and shanaya laughs at her.
She just shakes her head.
After having our lunches we go our separate paths. I have English lit. while Avni and shanaya have different classes.
I walk down the corridor towards my next class when I look into the open area where the football field is located.
I watch as the football team of our college practice away on the ground running behind the ball. The guys look.... Hot.
You can't lie. There is something about Athletes that sets them apart from the other guys.
I was shamelessly ogling at them when I bumped into someone.
Ack.
I look up to see, familiar dark orbs covered with glasses. Of course.
Aarav.
He glances at the field and then at me.
"Professor bose is calling you"
He says. In a monotone voice.
"Alright, I'll go"
I take one last glance at the guys on the field before walking past him towards the staff room.
I could feel his eyes on my back but I didn't turn back to look at him and kept on walking.
"Woh kehte hai na, jab ishq ko ishq hone lage, toh shamein gulabi aur aasman barsaati ho jate hai"
