Circles
Awbrey was never a good listener. People would consider her a troublemaker, but she calls herself a trouble-hunter. She's not purposely trying to make trouble, she just sees it and jumps in.
Awbrey was a tall black woman with curly frizzy hair, which was cut short. She had dyed tips of her hair red and even got a nose piercing. She doesn't wear many colors, mostly red, black, and green.
Today she wore a black jersey with green numbers and writing. Fingerless black gloves. Ripped short jeans with celestial fishnet tights and sneakers.
Awbrey had been suspended from her school a couple of times, she had even tried convincing her mom to drop high school altogether. She was quite surprised why her mom hadn't given up on her.
So there Awbrey sat, in the middle of a stupid geography class in her junior year. The teacher was talking, but she wasn't paying attention. She didn't really care. What purpose did geography serve anyway? Thats what world globes were for. Suddenly she felt a tap on her shoulder, making Awbrey face left to whoever had tapped them. It was her friend Maya.
"If this old man keeps yapping, I think I will fall asleep," Maya said in a hushed toned. Awbrey snickered.
"I know right? This class sucks."
Maya nodded, "Tell me about it."
The two sat in silence as the old man continued his lesson for geography. Maya leaned closer to Awbrey.
"Asher said he found a really cool place that he wants to show us," Maya whispered so the teacher wouldn't hear. Awbrey turned slightly and leaned closer.
"What kind of place?" Awbrey asked silently.
"It's an abandoned carnival," Maya informed with a whisper. Awbrey raised an eyebrow and couldn't contain a sly smirk.
"I see, you two trying to make out?" Awbrey commented, though her heart fluttered at the thought.
Maya shot back into her seat and crossed her arms. Her straight black hair bouncing so, "No! He just found it."
Awbrey shrugged as she glanced at outside the window. Clouds were forming together and blocking the sun, making it look darker outside. Awbrey looked back at Maya, who had unfolded her arms and laid her head on her desk.
"Tonight?" Awbrey asked. Maya looked up from her desk and laid on her cheek so she could face Awbrey.
"Tonight."
Awbrey watched as the stupid blonde, pink cheerleaders practiced for the upcoming pep rally. It was her last period- athletics- and the entire time was reserved for the cheerleaders to practice. Awbrey rolled her eyes. She looked around and saw half of the boys were staring with awe. She rolled her eyes once more. They're delusional, she thought to herself.
Why do boys love to date blondes anyway? They're always wearing stupid bright colors and wearing so much makeup. Their hair was always so bright blonde and bouncy with fake extensions. And their eyes- they were always green or blue!
Soon enough, the bell had rung. Awbrey had her bag right next to her, so she jumped up and made her way to the front door as fast as possible.
In the hallway, a group of more blondes within a straight line and blocking the hallway. They were walking slow as hell. Awbrey cursed to herself.
"Share the hallway people!" Awbrey shouted as she pushed one of the blondes against the wall so she could squeeze past. The blonde that was pushed was sneering at Awbrey.
"The hell is wrong with you?!" The blonde growled. One of the other blondes offered a hand and pulled the fallen blonde. Awbrey rolled her eyes. Blondes get so mad over absolutely everything.
"Deal with it sweetheart," Awbrey commented before continuing their way down the hallway. She could feel the eyes of the blondes still watching her even as she exited the building. Awbrey's gaze landed on Maya, who was waiting with Asher as per usual.
If Awbrey was going to be honest, she thought that Maya didn't really deserve Asher. Awbrey honestly thought that Asher should be with her, not Maya.
It wasn't fair. Every relationship Awbrey has ever been in, the guy always ended up cheating on her with usually a blonde. Heck, they didn't even last five months! What was Awbrey missing that everyone else had?! Blondes probably aren't even that pretty under all that crap they put on their faces.
Awbrey and Asher were perfect for each other. Their names were similar, they had the same clothing style, they liked the same colors, they were both tall- they were practically made for each other!
Opposites attract, Awbrey always told herself. Though, she never saw the idea in that.
Sometimes Awbrey had to remind herself not to get lost in Asher's eyes when they were having a conversation. His eyes were a deep beautiful hazel, and sometimes. She couldn't help it; she could stare at them all day.
One time, all three of them had a sleepover once. Awbrey was playing on her phone when she had dropped it on the ground. Asher had picked it up and handed it to her. When Awbrey was in the process of grabbing the phone from Asher's hands, they touched!
Maybe this old, abandoned carnival will give her some alone time with Asher...
"Awbrey!" Maya called, snapping Awbrey out of her daydreams. Awbrey shook her head and made her way over to her friend. Asher smiled as Awbrey approached.
"What's up Bree?" Asher asked in his deep, smoky voice. Awbrey tried her best to not heat up.
"Nothing much. Doing good, how 'bout you man?" Awbrey asked in a cool tone (though she was trying not to say anything idiotic). Asher shrugged and placed his hands in his hoodie pockets.
"Nah, nothing much. School still sucks, so, you know," Asher replied. Awbrey nodded. Awbrey looked up and saw that the clouds were starting to build up. Awbrey looked back at Asher.
"I hear and feel you dude."
Maya jumped in between the two, making Awbrey and Asher break eye contact. Awbrey frowned but tried not to show it. Maya was bouncing up and down like a toddler who had been fed ten chocolate bars.
"Yo Bree! You excited!?" Maya asked with large energy in her voice. Awbrey placed her hands on her hips.
"Can't you tell?" Awbrey asked with a chuckle. She could hear Asher laughing as well, making Awbrey smile slightly. Why does this man keep making his way into her heart?!
Asher turned around and looked at the two girls, "Follow me," he instructed before walking off course of the school sidewalk. Awbrey quickly started following, followed by Maya who ran up beside Asher and planted a kiss on his cheek. Awbrey's expression darkened slightly. It was as if Maya was trying to make her feel bad!
Asher leaned down and planted a kiss on Maya's lips in return. Quite passionately as well. Awbrey couldn't help it, she looked to the side.
The trio were walking through a dark forest. Awbrey watched as the neighborhood lights slowly started to disappear in the distance. Soon, Awbrey and the other two were fully engrossed in the loud sounds of nature. Asher came to a stop. Finally, Maya looked around the surroundings.
"Wow, were quite deep in, aren't we?" Asher nodded as his eyes danced through the environment they were in, as if searching for something. Awbrey tried looking for whatever Asher was looking for as well. Suddenly, Awbrey's eyes saw something shiny not that far ahead of them. Awbrey pointed.
"That what you're looking for?" Awbrey asked as she turned her body towards Asher. Asher looked in the direction of where Awbrey was pointing before lighting up, giving Awbrey that sexy smile that made Awbrey's insides melt.
"Yeah, that's it!" Asher said as he started walking forward again to where Awbrey had pointed. Maya and Awbrey followed closely behind. Asher turned around and pulled a tree branch up. Where Awbrey had pointed- just like Asher said he found- lied an old, abandoned carnival that no one seemed to have touch for at least thirty years. Awbrey and Maya wowed as Asher stepped onto the carnival grounds. Shortly after, Maya and Awbrey had joined him.
Awbrey looked around her. There was a mirror maze where shattered glass laid. Prize counters were still set up, though most of the toys were destroyed and torn. The rollercoasters were still up, thought the metals have been rusted deeply.
Maya approached one of the prize counters and picked up a panda plush with a purple top hat. She shook it slightly to remove any dust or dirt.
"Wow! This is really cute!" Maya squealed before shoving the panda plush into her bag. Asher approached the prize counter and picked up one of the plushies as well, before turning to Awbrey and offering it to her. Awbrey froze.
"Would you like one as well?" Asher asked, his smile sincere. His eyes seemed to have little golden sparkles, making his eyes look so damn easy to fall into. Awbrey suddenly became intensely aware of Asher's large body and muscled figure. Awbrey felt a small red creeping onto her face, but tried her best to make it not show.
"Um- yeah, sure. Thanks," Awbrey stuttered as she gently took the panda plushie out of Asher's hand. Awbrey observed the panda plushie more closely. It is kind of cute, she thought to herself. Awbrey looked around the carnival again. "This place is kind of cool."
Asher nodded and looked around with her, "Yeah. I'm honestly surprised nobody else had found it." Awbrey nodded., suddenly she had an idea.
"Hey- do you want to explore? You and me?" Awbrey asked shyly. Asher blinked.
"What about Maya?"
Awbrey waved a hand of dismiss in the air, "She'll be fine. Plus, she can watch the place in case anybody tries to come."
Asher thought silently to himself for a moment before nodding slowly, "Yeah... I suppose."
Awbrey wasn't thinking- but immediately she grabbed Asher's hand and pulled him forward toward where the rollercoasters are. Maya looked at them.
"Hey! Where are you'll going?" Maya shouted. Asher turned around slightly, still being pulled by Awbrey.
"We'll be back!" Asher shouted back before continuing to the rollercoasters where Awbrey was pulling him.
Awbrey let go of Asher's hand and walked. Awbrey could feel his fine body's presence right beside her, and she blushed. Why is he so damn hot?!
Awbrey looked at the rusted metal of one of the rollercoasters. The rust was really bad. She tried imagining it being brand new and little kids in line waiting to go on. The best place Awbrey's mom had ever taken her was the water park. And it wasn't even that big. Asher looked up at the rusty metal.
"Damn, I'm surprised it's still up. Most abandoned places like this have it broken down," Asher said. Awbrey nodded.
"I know. It's crazy how somethings are in life," Awbrey said back. Asher reached with a hand and touched the rusted part of the metal. As soon as his hand made contact, flakes of rust started falling. Asher quickly pulled back his hand and wiped it on the side of his hoodie.
"Yep, that thing is ready to collapse," Asher said with a chuckle. Awbrey started laughing, though she didn't know why. Eventually though, Asher started laughing along with her. Awbrey's stomach dropped and did a summersault, the butterflies flapping rapidly. Asher looked around Awbrey before his eyes widened. Quickly, Asher starting to another part of the coaster. Awbrey's eyes followed him as she slowly walked behind.
As Awbrey was walking, her eyes caught another prize counter similar to the entrance. She was about to dismiss is when she noticed something on. Awbrey stopped and looked at the prize counter from a distance. She could see faint red markings on the front, it looked similar to handwriting. She tried squinting so she could see it better, but to no avail.
Awbrey stood in place silently before she started approaching the prize counter to see the red handwriting. She didn't know why, but it felt as if it was calling her. As if it was a basic need for her life. She started getting closer to the prize counter, but still wasn't able to understand the handwriting.
"Bree, check this out!" Asher's voice suddenly called, making Awbrey stop mid-walk. She started debating in her head whether to check out the mysterious red handwriting (which she thought for sure was echoing her name) or go with Asher. Eventually, she turned away from the prize counter and made her way towards Asher.
Awbrey jogged her way over to Asher, who stood beside a white cart that was atop of the rollercoaster tracks. The white cart, like everything else that's metal in this place, was rusted. Asher gave the white cart a push, but it stayed firmly in place. Asher turned to Awbrey.
"It won't budge," Asher said. Awbrey rolled her eyes at him, like that's not obvious. Asher saw her eye roll and smirked. He turned to the rusted white cart and pushed it harder. The cart tilted slightly but refused to be moved and stayed in place once more. "I wonder if there's a button that turns this on..." Asher said mostly to himself. He turned to Awbrey. "You think this old thing still works?" He asked with a grin. Awbrey felt her face heating up again. She shrugged.
"I dunno. It looks like it's about to collapse," Awbrey mumbled as she looked at how high the coaster went. She placed her hands in her pockets. It was Asher's turn to roll his eyes.
"Where's your sense of adventure Bree? I thought you were badass," Asher said almost mockingly. Awbrey snapped in his direction.
"I'm braver than you. Bite me," she said with a smirk, taking her hands out of her pockets. Asher raised his hands up in defense, pretending to be intimidated.
"There she is!" Asher said before laughing softly. Awbrey laughed as well. She couldn't help but think about how cute his little laugh was. She looked up at the rollercoaster.
"Maybe if it still works, we can all ride it together," Awbrey suggested. Asher smiled and nodded at the idea.
"You mean me, you, and Maya?" Asher asked. Awbrey's smile faltered, and her heart fluttered in jealousy, but she nodded.
"Yeah," Awbrey replied. The two of them stayed silent, both of then looking up at the rusted rollercoaster. Suddenly, Awbrey's phone buzzed in her back pocket. Quickly, she pulled out her phone and looked at the home screen. There were five missed calls from her mom, and three unread text messages. Awbrey clicked on the unread messages.
Forty-seven minutes ago.
Mom: Bree, where are you? I know you were already released from school.
Twenty-eight minutes ago.
Mom: Awbrey, please don't ignore me. I need you to come home, right now.
Two minutes ago.
Mom: AWBREY, IF YOU IGNORE ME ONE MORE TIME, I WILL GROUND YOU TILL YOU ARE 30! COME HOME RIGHT NOW OR SO HELP ME!
Awbrey tensed up at the last message before texting her mom that she was on her way home. She placed the phone in her back pocket and looked at Asher. She frowned, she didn't want to leave just yet. But, if she didn't, she would be grounded and wouldn't know how long till she could see him again. Asher made eye contact with Awbrey.
"I got to go," Awbrey managed to choke out. Asher frowned slightly, but it quickly turned into a smile.
"No problem, I'll see you next time," Asher reassured. Awbrey smiled. She pivoted on her heal and started jogging towards the entrance so she could get home. Then she stopped. She thought to herself for a moment before turning back around towards Asher. Asher looked confused.
"Bree, what are you-" but before Asher could say anything else, Awbrey grabbed Asher's shoulders and pulled him towards her body, placing his lips on hers. Awbrey didn't know why she did. She genuinely didn't know what was going through her mind at the moment.
Asher looked surprised, but mostly mad. Maybe even disappointment, but Awbrey saw something in Asher's she had never seen before. Rage. Asher grabbed Awbrey's arms and pushed her backwards aggressively.
"Are you on Vodka or something?! You're mad! What the hell is wrong with you?!" Asher shouted. Awbrey stepped back as her face went into a deep shade of red. What did I do?! Awbrey kept asking herself in her mind. Asher stared at her, obviously he was pissed.
Maybe Awbrey wanted to believe something she convinced herself. Maybe she thought that Asher actually liked her than Maya, and she wanted to prove it. Maybe that's why she had done it, but now she had her answer. She was wrong. Dead wrong. Asher obviously didn't like her back the way she did. She felt tears welling up in her eyes. How could she be so stupid?! Maya was practically a blonde, she just had black straight hair. Asher would never date anybody like Awbrey!
Awbrey didn't even hear the shouts and yells from Asher, because she quickly turned away and made a dash for the carnivals entrance. She ran like she was being chased by a pack of hungry lions. She couldn't be here, not now.
As she ran, she saw in the corner of her eye a photo booth. On the side of the photo booth, she could have sworn she saw red handwriting. But Awbrey didn't have time to observe.
She ran home.
Awbrey laid in her bed in the darkness of her room, staring up at the ceiling that was decorated with glow-in-the-dark stars. She felt stupid. So fucking stupid. She rolled over slightly and looked at the clock that sat on her nightstand next to her queen-sized bed. The bright red illuminated numbers read 2:47 AM.
Awbrey frowned to herself. When she had gotten home, she turned down the chicken pasta her mom had made her. She didn't want to eat; she felt sick in her stomach. The butterflies in her stomach had been replaced with twisted knots.
When she had gotten into her room, she cried her stupid brown eyes out. She cried so hard until she physically couldn't anymore. Until all the tears had fallen.
She tried going to sleep, she just kept waking up. Sleeping sounded like some fantasy to her at this point. She couldn't sleep, she physically couldn't! Every time she closed her eyes, she saw Asher's face. She saw his hazel eyes. Eyes filled with hatred and disgust. Hatred and disgust for her. And it was all because Awbrey had to...
Awbrey tossed her body onto the other side roughly and yanked the blanket over her head. She didn't want to think about that. She didn't want to think about the moment where she had forcefully placed her lips against Asher's soft ones. Awbrey cringed to herself. She felt like crying again.
Go to sleep, she told herself. Go to sleep and forget. Awbrey closed her eyes and breathed slowly.
Awbrey jerked up, sweat was pouring from her forehead and neck. She was panting, as if she would never be able to breath air again. She hugged her knee's and rocked herself back and forth slightly. Her eyes were widened and dilated. She turned to look at her clock on her nightstand. The numbers read 3:12 AM.
Awbrey groaned and placed her head against her shaking knee's. She can't even get an hour of sleep! And she had to woke up all because of some stupid dream! No. A nightmare.
In the dream, everything was normal at first. Her class was going on a field trip to a carnival. Just a normal thing (though her school rarely let them have field trips). She was just goofing off and laughing while eating buttery popcorn and disgusting cotton candy. She was just having fun. She decided to go to the photo booth to take some silly pictures, but when she got inside of the booth the screen kept flashing red. Awbrey shrugged it off though and thought it was just a bug in the coding.
She exited the photo booth. Right in front of her was a rollercoaster. She ran up to get on the white cart, not even noticing that there was no line whatsoever. Awbrey quickly got into the seat and buckled up as the cart started moving on the tracks for the rollercoaster. She raised her hands up in the air as she got closer and closer to the drop. When she got to the top, she was able to see the entire carnival, but something was wrong.
The sun had disappeared, and the sky was a dark gray, casting a large shadow over the carnival. The carnival was empty, she couldn't see a single person. Everything looked abandoned. Things were covered in dirt and rust. Awbrey looked down in the seat she sat in and noticed that the cart itself was rusted. Then she looked down the side of the rollercoaster, dangerously rusted. She also noticed that she was stuck at the top of the drop. Immediately, Awbrey started panicking. The dangerous concept of the whole ride falling apart with her in it, was something that nobody should want.
As she was panicking, she could see something on the grass of the carnival. Something red. It was red handwriting, though Awbrey couldn't see what it said. Awbrey leaned over the rusted white cart slightly and squinted to see the red handwriting.
Circles.
The red handwriting said, Circles.
Awbrey had no idea what it meant, but deep inside of her she knew it wasn't anything good. Suddenly the white cart had started moving again, and she fell.
That was the part when Awbrey woke up. Now she was having a full-on panic attack on her bed. She didn't understand. What was so special about that stupid old carnival?!
She didn't know why, but she had the urge to explore it. She didn't understand, nor could she describe the feeling. It was as if it was calling her.
Awbrey looked up and tossed her legs off the bed. She reached for her nightstand and unplugged her phone, making the phone light up. She could see on the home screen of the phone that she had two missed messages from Maya, but she ignored them.
She had to get to the bottom of this.
Awbrey placed a black hoodie with Japanese wave designs over her head and black sweatpants. She reached for her bag and walked out into the kitchen. She didn't know how long she was going to be at the abandoned carnival for, but she felt the need to pack food and water.
She unzipped the bag and was ready to pull out whatever was already in. She reached inside and pulled out a plushie. Awbrey frowned, as she knew it was the same plushie that Asher had given her before the whole 'incident'. She placed it back into the bag. Other than the plush, there was nothing inside the bag. Awbrey placed two chewy bars, an apple, and a water bottle inside the bag before strapping it on her back.
Awbrey walked to the front door of the house, grabbed her set of keys, and then she was off.
It took Awbrey about twenty minutes to make her way through the woods, but eventually she found herself standing at the entrance of the old carnival. She noticed how creepy the place was when it was dark. She was also alone. So, if she was in danger, nobody would be able to save her. Nevertheless, she stepped forward.
Awbrey pulled out her phone and turned on the flashlight. The whole thing made her feel like she was in a horror movie. She felt shivers going down her spines. She really didn't want to be here; be it was almost as if something was calling her here.
Awbrey walked through the carnival, before her phone flashlight landed on a prize counter. She noticed immediately the red handwriting that wouldn't leave her mind. Awbrey approached the prize counter, and finally saw what the word was.
In.
Awbrey got confused. What did In mean? Inside something? Awbrey shrugged it off and walked away. She went to one of the photo booths and saw more red handwriting. She looked closer.
Stuck.
Awbrey felt tense. Now what did that mean? She walked to the side of the photo booth and opened up the curtain. She saw more red handwriting, but it was just the same word as the last time. In. Awbrey backed away quickly. What does all of this mean?
Awbrey walked away from the photo booth in a hurry. The wind blew past her shoulders, as if the wind was trying to push her out of this damned carnival. Awbrey heard as she took every step on the dirt with her white crocks.
Awbrey wanted so badly to just turn around and run out of this place. But she couldn't. She knew herself that she couldn't leave until she found out what the heck was going on. So Awbrey continued walking. She continued walking until her phone flashlight landed on a large cardboard wall. She knew that it was for people to use as a background to take picture. The background was just blue with balloons floating around, but that didn't concern her. What concerned her was the large red letters that covered it.
Circles.
Awbrey wanted to scream, but it would be pointless. Nobody would have heard her screams anyway. Circles, the red writing said. Over the word was a circle. Just like the dream.
Awbrey eventually found herself searching the entire carnival for more red handwritten words. She looked everywhere inside of everything, but she only found those three words. It was disturbing to think about. She put those three words together inside her head and came out with a normal looking yet terrifying sentence.
Stuck in circles.
Awbrey completely flipped. She started making a run for the carnivals entrance, which was actually her exit. Her escape from all this madness. She was so happy when she saw it. Awbrey quickly ran faster so she could leave faster, but when she left through the carnivals entrance, she was standing facing the carnival like she did when she first arrived. Awbrey froze. No. This can't be.
Awbrey turned around and tried exiting through the carnivals entrance again, but then found herself staring at the carnival once more.
Awbrey started panicking right then and there. How is this possible?! She tried leaving again. And again, and again. But she couldn't. Every time she walked out, she found herself staring at the carnival like she just walked in.
Awbrey looked up to the sky and inhaled deeply, "SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!" She screamed with all her might. She turned around and tried leaving once more, but no luck. Awbrey broke down into tears.
"Someone... please save me..." She muttered over and over to herself while she continued to attempt to leave the carnival. She fell onto the ground when she was looking at the carnival like she had entered once more.
Rollercoaster. That word ringed in Awbrey's mind. Awbrey looked back up at the carnival and stopped crying. Her cheeks were wet, but she had an idea suddenly. Awbrey quickly stood up, turned on her phone flashlight, and started making her way to the rusted rollercoaster.
Awbrey didn't know why, but she felt as if that was the only way to escape. She continued walking till she was met with the rusty rollercoaster. The rusted white cart sat at the very start of the ride as if waiting for her. She noticed that there was more red handwriting on the white cart.
Come.
Awbrey didn't know what it meant, but she quickly ignored it and jumped into the white cart. She realized to herself that this was the same rollercoaster she had in her dream, and that sitting in the cart was the only way to escape. She hugged her knee's to her chest and prayed that it would work.
Just as Awbrey was about to leave the cart, it started moving. Awbrey fell back into her seat as the white cart started moving forward on the coasters tracks and going up. Awbrey started panicking all over again. No.
This rollercoaster was so rusted, it would fall if it started moving once again. Awbrey felt tears well up in her eyes as she grabbed the metal pole you could hold onto and braced for impact. The white cart fell into the drop and started moving at fast pace of the coaster. Awbrey could feel her body fly up in the air but held on as tight as possible.
Surprisingly, the ride wasn't that long, and it was over in a matter of a ten seconds. Awbrey sighed in relief as she got up. She was about to jump out the cart, but it had started moving again. What? Awbrey had noticed it had gotten faster as well. She grabbed the metal pole again and held on as tight as she could during the ride. When it finished, it just started moving once again, faster than before. Then it happened again, faster. Then again, faster.
If this kept going on, Awbrey's arms would get tired and she would fly off, resulting in a painful death.
She held onto the metal pole once more as the cart was making its way up towards the drop. Awbrey noticed how this was the only time where she could stand up without flying off. She held onto the seat for support and stood up slightly and looked down at the carnival.
Jump.
That was the only thing that rang in Awbrey's mind. There was no other option. No other choice. Jumping was the only solution. The only escape.
Awbrey waited till the cart made its way to the very top of the drop of the roller coaster.
She jumped.
It felt as if when she was falling to the ground, it was in slow motion. Awbrey hated it, and she felt sick. She watched as the ground got closer and closer. That's when four words started ringing in her head.
Come stuck in circles.
Awbrey didn't even have a moment to process it though. And soon enough, Awbrey wasn't able to think at all.
Jamie pushed Anna as Elena laughed. The three of them laughed together as they walked inside the old, abandoned carnival. Elena said she found it three days ago, and they should make it their middle school hideaway. Anna had begged Elena to show them, so now here they were.
Jamie looked around in awe as they walked through the carnival.
"Wow! This place looks creepy," She squealed as she held onto Anna. Anna nodded, also looking around. Elena looked up at the two in pride.
"I know," Elena said smugly. Jamie looked up and saw that there was a roller coaster not too far. She let go of Anna and ran towards the coaster. Elena and Anna tried to catch up, but Jamie was a cheetah compared to those two.
Jamie slowed down as she approached the coaster. It was old and rusty- just like everything else in this carnival.
Everything was normal at first until Jamie saw a motionless person laying on the grass. Jamie tilted her head in confusion as she approached the girl.
The girl had black skin and curly, frizzy hair. Jamie saw a few freckles on the arms. The girl was facing head down, so Jamie couldn't see the girls face. Beside the girl, sat a cute little dirty panda plushie with a purple top hat.
"Are you okay?" Jamie asked as she approached the motionless girl. No reply. Jamie took a step closer before noticing there was red all around the girl. Jamie looked a little closer.
Blood.
It was dried blood. Jamie backed up in fear and fell onto the ground. She screamed.
